Thankful for you in my life❤️ he is my travel buddy, photographer, accountant, personal chef, and support therapist😉 —————— ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He has the kindest and most gentle personality, but also has such hidden sense of humor which you won’t notice right when u meet him. He makes the most mundane every day moment into jokes that we can laugh about for days. After 3 years together, I still get butterflies when I see him! —————— ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I am a better person because of you. You help me be the best person that I can be and you always encourage me to reach my full potential. 🥰Love u 30000000
Sometimes I wish I was full of sushi instead of emotions. 🙃 -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Jk but low key true...I’ve been feeling down lately, not sure if it’s related to not seeing the sun for 7 straight days😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ it’s been so rainy here, I think it has really affected my mood....does anyone else feel this way? Or is it just me??🤷🏻♀️
Be flexible, yet firm. Delicate, yet strong. -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bamboo is flexible, bending with the wind but never breaking, capable of adapting to any circumstance. It suggests resilience, having the ability to bounce back even from the most difficult times. . . . Your ability to thrive depends, on your attitude to your life circumstances. Take everything in stride with grace, putting forth energy when it is needed, yet always staying calm within. 🎋🐼
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder🥰 ———-⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s funny how the standard of beauty is drastically different in every culture and time period. For example, in the WESTERN culture, if you have tan skin you’re considered “hot/sexy” while in the EASTERN culture, a lot of girls strive for that “pale fair white imperfection skin look”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ———-⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, back in the Qin Dynasty, ladies who are more “plump and voluptuous” were considered wealthy and attractive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ———-⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So if you’re not tan or not pale or skinny or whatever the standard is in your culture, don’t be ashamed of your body, because you might be viewed as beautiful in another culture and in your own way💕
🍃Today marks the last day of Heisei Era 平成 and Japan enters a new age of the Reiwa Era 令和. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍃Era names have always had huge significance in Japan – and this is the 248th time a new era has been named since the system started in 645AD. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍃The reason for this change is: Heisei period originally meant universal peace, however, Japan was hit by large natural disasters, the nation also went thru economic stagnation and demographic crisis — in particular its rapidly aging and declining population that threatens to change the shape of the nation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🇯🇵The Japanese monarchy felt the need to change its era name for a fresh start. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍃Ultimately, the significance of Reiwa will only be understood in light of the events of the new reign.
What we see in others is a reflection of ourselves. 💫 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ————————————————— These koi fish were huuuuge! The owner said they were at least 80 years old! The Japanese views Koi as a symbol of good fortune, good luck, abundance, courage, and perseverance. Hope seeing this post gives you guys some good luck too! 🍀
Look who is making a rare appearance on the feed! 😝 Never a dull moment with youuu❤️ —⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Although we missed the full bloom Sakura aka cherry blossom in Japan due to abnormally low temp this spring, there were spurts of it throughout city. It was like hitting jackpot finding a full bloom Sakura! 🌸 —⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, having major jet lag and travel withdrawals right now! Been googling “how to move to Japan” all. morning.🤷🏻♀️
2 days ago, I got to go experience the Japanese traditional kimono! 👘 For those that don’t know, this style of clothing started in the Heian Period (794-1185). A standard kimono has at least 5 or 6 parts. The one I wore had 3 layers and the outer belt had 3 parts. Before I did this, I went in thinking it was gonna be a walk in the park! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ little did I know, there would be 2 ladies strapping me in so tight, that I couldn’t even breathe😂 Although later I got used to it, but when you’re in this, you’re molded into a straight perfect posture. Not room for slouching! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We walked about 6 hours around Kyoto, it made me feel very elegant and feminine hehe! But taking it off felt SOOOO GOOOD! It’s like taking your bra off after work, and multiply that by a 1000🤣 I give props to Japanese women who are able to wear this everyday!
Always makes me so damn happy to be at the airport, it feels like a new start to an adventure! It’ll be my boyfriend’s first time in Japan, I love exploring cities with someone who has never been! The novelty and excitement is the best part❤️ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Airport outfit post can we get any more blogger basic than this😂 .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also swipe to see original fetus photo and edited! I’ve been playing with photoshop lately and it’s super fun to spice up a dull photo! 😏
I’ve grown some tough skin over the years, I used to care so friggin much of what other people think of me, their opinions and their views. I wanted people to like me. I wanted to keep a perfect image of myself which is pretty unrealistic.....I think that has to do with the way I was brought up (that’s another topic for another day) ———————————————— But recently, I’ve really come to appreciate the realness of people. It’s only when we show our vulnerability and realness, we are able to connect with others. Not everyday is adventure, sunshine and rainbows, we all have our down and mundane days. But it’s only when we find joy in the day to day moments, we are able to feel elated about life. ———————————————— I want to mention some of the people that truly turn average lives into something so interesting! They’ll be in my stories!❤️
“Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul.” – Amy Collette ——————————————— It’s so important to practice gratitude every single day, and not just on thanksgiving😂 I’ve been doing this unconsciously now, if something is not going so well, I tell me myself “things could be worst...but I still have x and y!” I have a note on my phone that I jot down simple things that I’m grateful for. Such as: 1️⃣ food and a roof over my head 2️⃣ having a lot of support from people that love me 3️⃣ a job that I enjoy doing and pays well 4️⃣ fresh air after the rain makes me happy 5️⃣ the ocean! When I’m down or comparing my life to others, I look at the things I’ve written and really try to be grateful of what I already have NOT what I want. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I want to invite you to do the same! I find posting it somewhere you are being accounted for, such as online, gives you more motivation. Comment down below and share with me what you’re grateful for! :)
To be honest, sometimes I get stressed out on social media. Here is why: I’m scrolling thru other people’s post, even though I know the highlight reel effect, I still can’t help but comparing myself to them: “Wow her legs looks amazing, why are mine such short stubs??” Or “wow her photo is so good, she has so many likes, am I not doing enough?” Or “wow they’re outside exploring the world doing all these great things, why am I just sitting at home?” Then I feel this sudden huge wave of depression that my life or my pictures are not good enough. ———————————————————— So I decided to take a little break and didn’t go mindlessly scroll thru Instagram and Facebook for a month....or post.... Today, spontaneously I felt happy to purposefully scroll thru my feed, as they were from people that I admire and was really interested in their life. I realize that social media can be a good platform to spread awareness and make friends that may be far away in distance. But with anything, it’s a 2-way street. ———————————————————— This new year, I’ve made a promise to myself to not be jealous of whatever attribute another person has, but to be happy for them, and grateful for what I already have, which is so so much. And so do you, I hope you don’t compare yourself to another person’s highlight reel and let social media be a place for you to connect with others. If it doesn’t make you feel good to scroll thru social media, close out and go do something that really makes your soul happy. 💫
