I heard your vision gets bad after having babies but friends are telling me it gets worse after you turn 40. I’m gonna believe it’s the baby thing instead and hope it’s just temporary. #chicago

I have this thing with red doors. My forever home is going to have a red door since my roommates are not big fans of a pink door, but I’m also a huge fan of pink too 🤪. #chicago

I posted this same picture a few years ago and have been wanting to research the history/origin of this building. I finally found a 1997 Chicago Tribune article on it!. It was originally Eitel's Old Heidelberg Restaurant that opened in 1934 as a spinoff from a popular German restaurant operated by the Eitel family at the Chicago World's Fair of 1933. Here’s more of what the article said: Built by the noted architectural firm of Graham, Anderson, Probst and White on the site of an old wooden warehouse, the exterior of the Heidelberg was designed to evoke the charm of a traditional German village, right down to the benevolent figure of King Gambrinus, the jovial German monarch who supposedly invented beer. I’ve been following @accidentallywesanderson and have been inspired to research more of the places I see around Chicago! This is on Randolph Street across from Block 37. #chicago#chiarchitecture

My first blog post of the year is all about Chicago! I just shared a post (link in profile or on www.secondcitymom.com) on my picks for the 15 most photogenic places in Chicago (or for Instagram’s sake... “Instagrammable” places). I hope you check it out. I really hope they love Chicago as much as I do. We have big plans to take them around town and show them all our favorite places using this @mapiful print of Chicago!! #chicago#lifewithtwins#mapiful#gifted

I can’t believe I took this picture two years ago (1/2/17). Luke was 4 years old and what a difference from 4 to 6. He’s like a teenager now. Well, he acts like one. Not wanting me to take pictures of him but would gladly photobomb all the pics I take of his baby brothers. He loves hanging out with Charlie than with me 😭. But it’s nice that some nights he still wants to cuddle with me. I’ll take as much as I can get even if his brothers need me. He’ll always be my baby. He made me a mother. #tbt#stopgrowing#chicago

“Make no little PLANS; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. Remember that our sons and our grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty.” - Daniel Burnham Currently writing down my 2019 plans (thanks @milknhonee for the suggestion) Big things happened on 2018. Staying grateful and planning bigger things with my big little family in 2019. Thank you for following along!!

Charlie suggested we take a walk on Michigan Avenue this afternoon. We ended walking around Michigan Avenue instead bc it was a bit too crowded. It turned out for the best since we didn’t spend any money and discovered some cool places which is helping with my goal to spend less and doing more. 🙌🏼 And I think this might be a late submission to #wreathwatch but the year and season is not over yet, right? #chicago#chiarchitecture

We finally made out of the house this morning to get some fresh air after a full day of watching Luke assemble his LEGO sets. I’m not mad there’s no snow and it’s currently 40 degrees. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Boxing Day to our European friends. #chicago (sorry for the double post 🙈...I like this edit better 😬)

I posted this picture exactly a year ago. It was the day my doctor confirmed that I was pregnant bc I didn’t believe the pregnancy test we took at home. I snapped this picture to remember where I was when I got the phone call (we didn’t know we were expecting twins yet). Everything after this was a blur that day. Only Charlie, my mom, a close coworker and my hairstylist knew I was pregnant at that point. And if you can’t trust your hairstylist, who can you trust? But seriously...this past year has been a miracle and even more so seeing friends who struggled with infertility also welcomed their own miracles. #chicago#christmasmiracle#chiarchitecture

This was me a month ago...super nervous before my storytime at the Google Hardware Store. But it turned out to be so fun, thanks to all the families that showed up and with the help of the Google Home. I’m doing another storytime this Sunday (12/23) at 11:30 am! This time, I’m teaming up with @mamafreshchi! Have you met her? She’s doing great things with this platform to build a community for mamas and families in Chicago. Very inspiring. So if you are in town this weekend, it would be great to see some of you guys at this fun event and store. We’ll be reading Disney’s Moana and Coco. #chicago#googlehardwarestore
