It's Hunza's Story.... Thank you Hunza civil society organization for contributing towards clean & green Hunza. All we need from you is to be part of this caravan—let’s protect earth by protecting Hunza with clean & green initiative!! It’s our home!! Two years back when I was in my home town (Hunza, Pakistan), enjoying summer breaks with my family, I was touched and inspired by the step the community women organization, academia, hospitality and other entities have taken to keep the environment clean. Now the civil society organizations, Academia, Corporate, hospitality and other private related are now in front-line to protect the environment. Like the Women grassroots Organization in Village Passu, District Hunza took the initiative to clean their village. In every summer, the women organization volunteers do this activity on periodic bases. Like-wise the example of Al-Amin School, Gulmit students is also amazing. Every year, students tour the Pak-China Boarder & Khunjarab National Park (KNP) Pass and conduct their cleaning campaign where the visiting tourists also become part of this campaign. Likely hospitality industry has also started the green campaign and contributing towards such awareness initiatives. Community Girl’s Guide and Boy’s Scouts are not at behind but are proactively participating in such activities. Furthermore the initiative towards green environment by an apex community organization Khunjarab Villager Organization (KVO) is indeed a highlighting one. Lets be a green initiative-taker!! #environmentprotection#greens#protection#like4likesbackandfollow#likeforlikes
A journey through the mesmerizing Valley---Kalash: I am the lucky one who had a chance to visit this mesmerizing valley …Kalash Valley!! One can feel the calmness and the mesmerizing effect, being close you are to nature and unique culture. Kalash or Kalasha are ancient tribe with their own religion, language, unique rituals and identity. Beside tourists, many Historians, anthropologists and photographers from all over the world focus the Kalasha society. Deliberating and exploring the history of Kalash people, I have been told that mainly two theories exists about the origin of the Kalash people. One is Indo-Aryan origin and the other is Greek origin. Kalash people believe in 12 Gods and Goddesses and have unique religious and cultural practices. There are two types of religious events in Kalasha society. The first kind may be considered as having a religious ceremony as well as festivities while other events are only religious in nature, without dancing and singing. The Kalasha observe many festivals in a year, their major festivals are: • Joshi, celebrated in May to welcome spring. • Uchaw, observed in late August to ensure good crops of wheat. • Poh, observed in September, marks the start of grapes harvest. • Chaumos, observed in December for more than two weeks, it is the grand festival of the Kalasha tribe and it is celebrated to welcome New Year. Today, the Kalasha community is in transition, under the pressure of modernization and seems this beautiful culture will vanish, if it is not preserved by international and national agencies and governments. Mark your calendar for these upcoming festivities !! Shandur, often called the 'Roof of the World's is a flat plateau and can be crossed between late April and early November. The area is crossed by small streams of trout. Shandur invites visitors to experince a traditional polo tournament which since 1936 has been held annually in the first week of July between the teams of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. The tournament is held on Shandur top, the highest polo ground in the world at 3700 meters (the pass itself is 3800 meters). The festival also includes folk music, dancing and a camping is also set-up #shandur#pakistanis#chitral#khyberpakhtunkhwa#polo#travelbeautifulpakistan#sport#wanderingphotographers#instatravelingram#instaphotographers#wanderlove#travellergram
Mesmerizing valley and unique culture-Kalash Valley!! Rove Pakistan invites you to experience one of the most exceptional culture and festivals of Kalash Valley, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The internationally well-known touristic place in Chitral-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is Kalash Valley. This valley is a place of Kalash people, who are the descendants of Alexander the great (as per one of the existing theories). Living in Valleys of Bumburate, Birir and Rumbur, the unique culture and way of living of Kalash people makes them different from the rest of people. One of the popular festival of Kalash is “Chilimjusht” festival which starts at Rumbur valley and then move on to the other valleys i.e. Bumburet and Birir. In this festival Kalash people pray for safety of their fields & animals before leaving to their fields and for this purpose they spread milk on their gods. You will enjoy and experience lots of customary processions and activities are done which is unique to this culture. So come on and mark your calendar for this festivity!! . . . #traveladdict#travel#instatravel#likesforlikes#like4likers#wanderlust#vsco#vscogram#vscohub#travelbloggerslifestyle#travelnetherlands#travelblog#travelgram#travelworld#world#pakistan#rove#rovepakistan
