ᵂ ᴱ ᴿ ᴮ ᵁ ᴺ ᴳ* Copenhagen. This bustling city was the last stop of our road trip through Danish Zealand. And what better way to see this city than on a boat? Okay, even better: having some super yummy Smørrebrød while you are at it. Which we did of course.

ᵂ ᴱ ᴿ ᴮ ᵁ ᴺ ᴳ* Cloudbusting. It was one of those trips where we hurried from one place to the other, trying to see as much as possible, but hardly had any time for our selfs or to relax. This place would have been perfect for that. I might be back to make up leeway.

ᵂ ᴱ ᴿ ᴮ ᵁ ᴺ ᴳ* A real fishermen’s Harbour in Europe is a rare sight these days. We had a quick stop here in Gilleleje to get lunch, but as the restaurant was right at the Harbour, we walked down to have a look. Actual small, family run-boats are still going out for the chance of a fresh catch. Lovely. Just like when I grew up and it was pretty normal to get fresh fish when we spend our vacation at the sea. Le sigh!

ᵂ ᴱ ᴿ ᴮ ᵁ ᴺ ᴳ* That day Miss @smaracuja and Miss @esctown jumped in a Kajak to explore the Halsskov Rev underneath the Storebælt bridge that crosses the Great Belt in the Baltic Sea. And yes. The suspension bridge is really that long. Even longer. 18km. My friends look tiny. You should have seen their huge smile on their faces. Mine was bigger though as I could stay on land to take the pictures ;-)

ᵂ ᴱ ᴿ ᴮ ᵁ ᴺ ᴳ* The beautiful, wild peninsula of Røsnæs at the Great Belt in the Most Western Part of Zealand in Denmark. It‘s about 15km long and shows lush green hills, curvy bays and lots of untouched, pure nature. There’s only a tiny village with a tiny shop and at the end of it all, a cute little lighthouse, from where we saw whales (but couldn’t get a picture). If you can, come here for a longer hike, bring a picnic and enjoy those views! And if you are here on the weekends, there is a café at the lighthouse where volunteers from the area serve cake and coffee. Yay! [* Disclaimer: Visit Denmark invited me on this trip. ᵂ ᴱ ᴿ ᴮ ᵁ ᴺ ᴳ * Off-season traveling makes so much sense to me. This here is the Danish Riviera, the beach of Hornbæk. The villages cave be found in the north of Sjælland and is facing the Øresund that separates Denmark from Sweden. Except for some kids having some serious photo shoots here, we only met a woman and her dog. In summer this place is packed! So be wise and come in lovely spring!

So much to do and see. This is the view from one of our accommodations - a lighthouse on the island of Møn. Stunning views. [* Disclaimer: Visit Denmark invited me on this trip. Evenings at Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. This peaceful oasis in the middle of the old quarter let’s you get away from the noise of the city. The lake surrounds Ngoc Son Temple, a pagoda sitting in the centre on a small island. According to an old Legend, an emperor was once given a magical sword that helped him defeat the Chinese Ming Dynasty and in doing so saw the return of the Golden Turtle God to the lake. Today endangered soft-shell turtles are swimming in the lake, to see them is considered very auspicious.

One of the most beautiful - and if you will romantic -streets in Hanoi: Phan Dinh Phung Street. Two rows of ancient and huge dracontomelon line this boulevard that is 1.5 km long and also has a big sidewalks which you can see here. This must be epic in autumn but I also loved walking here in my way to the West Lake with those lovely rays of lights coming in once in a while.

Early mornings in Hanoi. There‘s this tiny alley close to Dong Xuan Market where vendors sell all the good Vietnamese foods your dreams are made of. And the locals and in this case I sit down and eat. That‘s a perfect start of the day if you ask me.

Getting lost and just following colors is my favorite way of exploring a city. Today, I was walking through the famous old quarter of Hanoi. This time, I just followed the color yellow. And got this.

Life in Hanoi. Two women on their selling tour through the Old Quarter of Hanoi. Yes, this city is loud. It’s dirty. The traffic is not for the faint of heart. But still, I think I could live here for some time.

It made me quite happy that although gentrification has kind of moved in to Hanoi since I have been here six years ago, some things didn’t change at all. Like the chaos on the streets, the aroma of cinnamon and herbs everywhere you go, the noise. And like the very beautiful sight of all these women selling fruits or flowers from their bicycles. Most of them wear the traditional conical hat of Vietnam, the beautiful Non La - protecting them from sun and rain.

Hanoi‘s famous train street. Only a few times per day, a train squeezes through this tiny passage, where people life and work and go on with their daily routine. Once the train has passed, you will find guys like him, sitting in the middle of the tracks, chilling. Oh and of course tourists like me, taking photos. It is still definitely worth visiting. As usual I got into a conversation with a young woman who held her 2 month old baby in her arms and ask how living is so close to the tracks. And she shrugged it off and said: good just the baby keeps waking up. But the baby boy will get used to it. Life in Hanoi. ❤️

Xin Chào, Vietnam! I am so happy that I have returned to that one city that I cannot forget since my first visit six years ago. Hanoi. I arrived yesterday and can’t get that silly smile of my face. I am in love. Usually I hate noisy, crowded cities. Except this one. Don’t ask me why, I can’t explain. But maybe some of my pictures are able to do that.
