"Where Mountains and Prairies Meet" Blue hour on the Fairholme Range. This is a self-portrait I took at nightfall at 2,700 metres, on the ridge that connects Mts Peechee and Girouard, earlier this summer. Such a unique vantage point. 🤯 You can clearly see where the mountains end the Prairies begin, and even the lights of distant towns (probably the Cremona/Didsbury area nearly 100 km away). The far end of Lake Minnewanka and Devil's Gap also look beautiful from there. My happy place. Well, one of many.
"Waking Rundle" A rather unusual view of the iconic Banff peak, taken a few days ago during an ascent of Mount Girouard. The ambience was incredible that morning. Thanks everyone for the amazing support here lately. It's a real pleasure to be able to share my findings with you all! 😁
Back from a fantastic climbing trip in the Lake O'Hara region. As we came down Glacier Peak and dropped below the clouds we were greeted by the best view of Lake Oesa we'd ever seen! Yesterday we ascended Ringrose Peak in stunning weather. This wraps up the peaks of the Lake O'Hara area for me. 🧗♂️That doesn't mean I won't keep returning to the valley - one of the most stunning in the world without a doubt.
As promised, the view to the north, seconds after I took yesterday's shot. As you can imagine that 360 view will stay with me forever. 🙂 The rainbow-like halo right of centre is a surreal light effect called the Brocken spectre. In the distance you can see the far end of Lake Minnewanka.
High drama in the Fairholme Range those past couple of days! As I took this, I had the Brocken spectre going off over Lake Minnewanka to my right - pretty overwhelming for a photographer. I'll show you what things looked like 90 degrees to the right tomorrow! Have a great weekend everyone!
I can't tell you how excited I am about a project I've been collaborating on with photographers I greatly admire: @viktoriahaack, @davebrosha, @twomannstudios And @johnemarriott. Photographers especially are going to want to join our mailing list to find out the moment it goes live! 👉 Find the link in my bio. For now, I'll try to keep my mouth shut because I'm not supposed to reveal what it is. 🤫
