What an end to the season. Not the outcome or consequences Warriors fans wanted, but seeing the fight and sacrifice was incredible. Literally laying bodies on the line in the hopes of just one more victory. Can't be upset with the heart they showed. So too ends the Oracle Arena Era. I'm gonna miss it greatly. When Roaracle was at its best, there was nothing else like it. 19 thousand-plus cheering as one, screaming out their passion for the Dubs. • I'd always planned for my #WarriorsWednesday posts to work towards this culmination - my thank you to Oracle Arena and a fond remembrance of some of the Warriors that gave DubNation thrilling moments in that building that will last in sports history forever. Long live the Roaracle! • #oraclearena#roaracle#thankyouoracle#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#nba#nbafinals#nbafinals2019#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld

He presented the Warriors with this season's Western Conference trophy, but back in his day, he presented a lot of excitement for DubNation and broken ankles for opponents! Today's #WarriorsWednesday post is the master of the UTEP Two-Step - arguably the best crossover the NBA has ever seen - Tim Hardaway! • Tim was the 14th pick of the 1989 draft. He quickly brought excitement to the Ws, averaging 14.7 pts and 8.7 asts his rookie season. Combined with Chris Mullin and Mitch Richmond, the Warriors led the NBA in scoring with their up-tempo, run-and-gun style of offense. The Run TMC era was born! Tim went on to average over 20 pts and 9 asts for each of the next 4 seasons. He helped lead the Warriors to the 1991 playoffs, where the 7th seeded Warriors beat the 2nd seeded Spurs. As a Warrior, Tim was named an All-Star three straight seasons before a knee injury kept him out of the entire 1993-94 season. The Warriors traded him to the Miami Heat during the 1995-96 season, but not before Tim established himself as one of the franchise's best point guards ever. Run TMC will forever be a DubNation favorite! • If you wanna see more cool Warriors art, come out to GOLDEN VISIONS: THE FINALS EDITION art show, presented by @solespace1 ! The show begins this Friday, June 7, for First Friday at Sole Space in Oakland (1714 Telegraph Ave) and goes through June 21. While Dubs fans eagerly await the start of the Finals, today's #WarriorsWednesday post revisits a past champion and Finals MVP - the man with the most iconic free throw shooting form ever - Rick Barry! • Rick was drafted by the Warriors in 1965 with the 2nd overall pick. He won Rookie of the Year honors averaging 25.7 ppg and 10.6 rpg. He went on to lead the league in scoring the following season with 35.6 ppg! He helped lead the Warriors to the 1967 NBA Finals where, though losing to the 76ers, he averaged 40.8 ppg for the series! After a contract dispute caused him to jump to the ABA, Rick rejoined the Warriors in 1972. He was an integral part of the 1975 championship team and was named NBA Finals MVP. Before leaving the Warriors in free agency in 1978, he amassed 8 All Star and 5 All-NBA First Team honors. Rick went on to be named one of the 50 Greatest Players in 1996 during the NBA's 50th Anniversary and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1987. His number 24 is retired by the Warriors. • #rickbarry#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#waybackwednesday#nba#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld

Had the good fortune of doing the book design and production a while back for @12gaugecomics remastering of the crime series, Matador, by Devin Grayson and Brian Stelfreeze! I was a fan of the miniseries when it was originally published by DC Comics in 2005, so was excited to be a part of this update. This new version is published by @imagecomics and on sale in comic stores today! Work's been crazy so took a short break from social media, but I wanted to get back at it with this week's #WarriorsWednesday illustraion. Today's post is the recently retired - but forever a champion - David Lee! • When DLee joined the Dubs in 2010, he was just coming off an All Star season with the Knicks where he averaged 20.2 pts, 11.7 rebs, and 3.6 asts per game. He was only 1 of 3 players in the league to average 20 & 10 at the time. He immediately gave the Warriors a steady offensive presence to accompany Monta and Steph. In 2013, he was named an All Star again and became the first Warrior All Star since 1997! He had a fantastic season, leading the league in double doubles and was named All-NBA Third Team. Unfortunately during the playoffs, he tore his right hip flexor, but still returned in the 6th game of the series to help upset the Denver Nuggets. Lee continued with the Warriors for two more seasons, but his role changed due to injuries and the emergence of Draymond Green. He continued to contribute in a supporting bench role and won a championship with the 2015 squad. • #davidlee#dlee#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#waybackwednesday#nba#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld

With the Dubs deep in playoff action, thought it would be a great time to recognize the NBA record holder for most pts in a quarter (29) and in a half (39). Today's #WarriorsWednesday post is Eric "Sleepy" Floyd! • After being selected 13th overall in the 1982 draft by the Nets, Sleepy was traded to the Warriors during his rookie season where he quickly blossomed into a talented scorer, averaging almost 17 pts per game. He was an All Star in 1987 in a season where he averaged over 18 pts and 10 asts per game. He's most well known for his historic 1987 playoff performance against the Showtime Lakers where, in the 4th quarter, he scored 12 consecutive field goals, setting the aforementioned NBA records and receiving the iconic broadcast call, "Sleepy Floyd is Superman!" • #sleepyfloyd#sleepy#ericfloyd#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#waybackwednesday#nba#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld

A day late on my #WarriorsWednesday post cause work has been nuts, but this player doesn't need an intro to Dubs fans. Known throughout the league in the 2000s for his high-flying abilities and electric style of play, today's post is Jason Richardson - but Dubs fans will always know him as J-Rich! • Selected by the Ws with the 5th overall pick in the 2001 draft, he won MVP of the Rookie Challenge and caused a stir the following year when he bounced the ball of Carlos Boozer's forehead, then hit a 3-ptr. J-Rich won the Dunk Contest in 2002 and 2003 (including an off the backboard, between the legs dunk which has never gotten its just due of how awesome it was IMHO). He gave the Warriors visibility on a national level during a time that not all Ws games were even televised locally! Fans will always love him for penning an apology letter in 2005 for missing the playoffs for a 12th straight season (and the love was returned when Ws fans took out an ad congratulating J-Rich on making the playoffs while he was a member of the Suns). He played a huge role in the historic We Believe team, which felt like vindication for a man who was so loyal to the team during so many losing seasons. Sadly, J-Rich was dealt in the 2007 off-season in a trade the Ws wish they could do-over. Though he didn't get to end his career as a Warrior, to Dubs fans, J-Rich will always be a Warrior! • #jasonrichardson#jrich#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#waybackwednesday#nba#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld

Just after the We Believe team and before the emergence of Steph Curry, the most exciting player to watch in Golden State, IMHO, was today's #WarriorsWednesday post, Monta Ellis! • Monta was selected out of high school by the Warriors with the 40th overall pick in the 2005 draft. After a promising rookie season, he was named the NBA Most Improved Player in his second season while being a significant contributor to the historic We Believe roster. He became a full time starter the next year, averaging 20 pts per game while shooting 53% from the field which was 14th in the NBA and 3rd amongst guards. He became only the 9th guard in NBA history to shoot 60% from the field for an entire month! He went on to be a prolific scorer for the Ws averaging over 20 pts per game for the next 4 seasons. He was eventually traded to the Bucks in a deal that Dubs fans were not happy about. Even though it brought Andrew Bogut to the Ws (who was injured at the time), fans weren't happy and booed ownership during the Chris Mullin jersey retirement ceremony. Monta was a fan favorite (definitely was for me) and made a down-time in Dubs history still a fun time to watch. • #montaellis#mississippibullet#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#waybackwednesday#nba#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld

Today's #WarriorsWednesday post is former player, former coach, former General Manager, current ambassador, and the latest member of the Hall Of Fame! For nearly 60 years, Alvin Attles has been affiliated with the Warriors franchise. • Nicknamed "The Destroyer", Al was drafted by the Philadelphia Warriors in 1960 as a 5th round pick. He played for the Warriors for 11 years, including 2 as a player/coach. He was one of the first African American coaches in the league and went on to coach for 13 years - the longest coaching tenure in team history - leading the Warriors to their first championship in the West Coast Era in 1975 over the Bullets. He went on to become the General Manager after the 1983 season, and guided the team for 3 seasons. His jersey number (16) is one of six to have been retired by the Warriors. And some fun trivia for you - on the night Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 pts, Al was the second leading scorer on the team with 17! • #alvinattles#alattles#thedestroyer#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#waybackwednesday#nba#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld

A few months back, I collaborated with @jcarillo_designs and @willow408 on a video montage project where each of us illustrated a member of the legendary Run TMC (thanks again for the fun, fellas!). So today's #WarriorsWednesday post is a closer look at the illustration of Mitch Richmond I did for that project. • Drafted 5th overall by the Dubs in the 1988 draft, Mitch went on to win Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 22 pts, 6 rebs, 4 asts, and 1 stl per game. During his all-too-short three seasons in Golden State, he was a prolific scorer averaging over 22 pts every season. Just as he, Chris Mullin, and Tim Hardaway were hitting their stride as Run TMC, Mitch was traded away to Sacramento in a move that the Warriors would come to regret. Mitch would go on to thrive as a member of the Sacramento Kings, where he earned All-Star status six times, All-NBA Second Team three times, All-NBA Third Team twice, and All-Star Game MVP of the 1995 game. He would also go on to be a member of the 1996 Olympic team (Dream Team III) that took Gold in Atlanta. Mitch was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014 and had his jersey number retired by the Kings. Wish we could go back in time and undo that trade to see what could have been! • #mitchrichmond#runtmc#therock#dubnation#warriorsground#strengthinnumbers#warriors#goldenstatewarriors#gsw#goldenstateofmind#authenticfan#waybackwednesday#nba#basketballart#nbaart#sportsart#warriorsartwork#consciousbasketball#dubzagainsttheworld
