November 10th, 2018! Wow. It’s been a whole 2 years! Yes: TWO YEARS! DOS AÑOS! 104 WEEKS! 730 DAYS! —since I decided to be #weedfreeyo! In those two years I have accomplished SO MUCH and life for me has been the sweetest ever (I do not think that’s a coincidence)! To my surprise, this is one of the most frequent topics people hit me up about (to the point I’d become mentally fatigued if I answered everyone). With that said, I have decided to put my energy into self-publishing a book exploring the taboos of being #weedfreeyo and outlining my personal journey (coming 2019). Until then, I hope my hashtag #weedfreeyo helps and inspires those looking for change. xxML // Here’s a photo of my whole heart & I serving looks on set for @masego shot by @illbrill hair @ladysoulfly makeup @makeupbynimai photo @cas.tle - coming soon
I’d like to thank my Mother Earth for being a TRUE light being! Her elevation levels are ever forward/upward/onward moving! I have had intense postpartum anxiety and one conversation with her pulls me back to THE NOW. THE PRESENT. Thank you Mother for constantly evolving and inspiring me to do the same. You are a CONSCIOUS being and I am proud to be your daughter. WHAT THIS CONVERSATION WITH OG GURU LOVEJOY TAUGHT ME: Focus on being present in this moment. Once your focus is really in the moment, all the background noise and anxiety about the future/what could happen, stops. If it comes back, it’s because you’re not focused on the right things or you’re not present in the moment. A string of moments is your life. Your thoughts have thoughts, learn how to quiet and/or change them when necessary. We all have an inner dialogue. We can listen to that dialogue or we can change it. (When you need a reminder, listen to Eckhart Tolle —keep in mind his language is binary but his messages are deep and useful nonetheless) My #1 job in life is to protect my child —because unfortunately, we live in a world where children need protecting. It’s normal to be hyper aware/sensitive to what is going on after having a baby and/or becoming a new mother. Be alert, trust your instincts, but do not become consumed with worry. Worry will pop up (and that is ok), but it is important to be actively living in the present. To hell with panic attacks and nightmares! Thank you for the tools Mother. xxML // ASLO, can we take a minute to be in awe of the BEAUTIFUL design of this woman! A MOTHER EARTH ANGEL!
I understand many people are scared to love and have been hurt, abused, and broken so many times. To those people: when you find BIG LOVE and LOYALTY, I hope you’re in a position to accept it from the genuine people who are offering it to you. You are worthy and deserving. True, there are many wolves disguised as sheep, but not everyone is out to get you. I keep you in my prayers and hope you don’t give up on people. Not all of us are monsters. xxML 🌍🔥💧💨
PSA from Nomi, The Shark: Single-use plastics are among the most wasteful, but they're also the easiest change you can make to your lifestyle. Instead of buying single-use plastic water bottles in bulk, switch to reusable bottles you can fill up again and again! HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🎃🦈🌊#parleyfortheoceans#sustainabilitygang
I’ve come across many people who have had issues with distancing themselves from social media and cell phone usage. I myself have experienced this and actively work towards setting boundaries —for example, Simon and I made a rule: NO PHONES IN THE BEDROOM. I just found out about the SCREEN TIME feature under ‘Settings’ on iPhones. You can monitor your usage and set limits! When sharing my #weedfreeyo stories I mention how the SoberTime app really helped me...I can see this feature helping me too! Check it out if you’re feeling social media/cellular device fatigue! Your self love, productivity and mental health could all benefit!! Be present in the world, focus on the goal(s) you’ve been putting off, use your time wisely, or simply give yourself a break. Last night I set my first time limit for social media and I look forward to seeing what happens! Hope this helps any of you who needed this lil tidbit. xxML
