So on Thursday of last week I announced the huge challenge that was awaiting me in 2019 for Challenge 10000 and Epilepsy Research. So for those whole unfortunately didn’t see the live announcement or have seen the video, here is what i’ll be doing... Next year’s big fund raiser is “856”. Sounds simple enough? Yes? However this will be the most challenging thing I have ever done both physically and mentally and will push my limitations further than i have ever before. I will (hopefully) be completing nine (yes 9), races over next year that will total a distance of 856K or “856”. I will br taking part in seven 100K ultra races, one 106K race (yes I’m going back to compete the Isle Of Wight challenge) and finally one 50K race. I am very happy and honoured to say that for this year I have two amazing guys getting ready for this huge undertaking, especially with what happen last year in the two races I completed in, but also my fractured arm (mentally this still gets to me even when walking down the street and get too near a kerb). The guys are Matt Chappell and Charlie Blake at Evolved Heath who have kindly sponsored this challenge. Matt will be helping me get back in the gym and getting me healthier, fitter, faster and mentally ready for the challenge. While Charlie will be helping me with my ongoing sports rehab on my elbow, but also ensuring that I look after myself so not to obtain any form of injuries while training. I can’t thank them enough for their support up to now on all the charity work i’ve done but also I cannot wait to start training with Matt and Charlie this Thursday (may be a video/pod cast of that). Thank you again guys and you can still donate to Challenge 10000 at www.justgiving.com/challenge10000. And all I can say is “every penny helps” and thank you all again. Look out for my video post on Thursday
