Hiking into Haleakalā was an amazing experience from start to finish, but one of my favorite parts was arriving at our cabin and running around barefoot to absorb all that delicious volcanic energy into our bodies. . I was hardly sore when I got home the next day, even though I’d hiked 8 miles at nearly 7,000 feet while not exactly being in what I’d call “hiking shape.” The earth’s electrical charge has profound effects on our physiology and well-being, and this isn’t “woo-woo,” it’s science. . Regular, direct contact with the surface of Mama Earth can reduce inflammation, reduce stress, help you get better sleep, and alleviate pain, among other things. In a place like a volcano, this healing energy feels especially potent. . If you’re planning a visit to Maui, I always recommend a visit to Haleakalā. And you don’t have to hike into the crater to camp (though it is an awesome experience), you can visit the summit for sunrise or sunset and take in the whole island from the heavens (10,000 feet). You need a reservation to enter the park for sunrise (you can do it online), so plan for that at least a few weeks in advance. You might not want to take your shoes off since it can get shockingly cold up there, but sitting on the ground will have the same effect. . I’ve linked to a good article on the topic of grounding in my stories if you want to learn more. Happy Earthing, Earth lovers! 🌏👣💕 📷: @wyatt_piro
Every time you smile at a stranger, every time you show yourself compassion and forgiveness, every time you put one foot in front of the other in the name of healing, every time you give someone or something your full, loving attention, every time you laugh when it’d be so much easier to get angry, every time you choose LOVE over FEAR...it matters. You make an impact on the world, on ALL of us, with every single choice you make. Every moment counts toward building the beautiful future on earth that we all dream about. Never forget it...and act accordingly. #yourchoicesmatter#chooselove#choosecompassion

Do you ever feel like you can’t be both wealthy AND spiritual? As though having money means you are not really a conscious person? As though having money means you are greedy and selfish or inherently evil? . I know I have felt this way in the past. But you know what I’ve learned since? These notions are all utter and complete bullshit. . Our natural state is one of abundance. Me having financial wealth does not take away from anyone else’s ability to have financial wealth—there is plenty for everyone, it’s just poorly distributed at the moment. And when I have more, I can give more. I cannot give that which I do not have. So, noble though it may seem to give away all of your money before you have much to give, your own needs will go unmet and no one will really benefit in the long run. . Having money or not having money is simply a mindset. If you believe money is the root of all evil and that it is hard to come by, then you will always struggle to bring financial abundance into your life. If you believe yourself to have all the money you will ever need and that it flows to you easily, you WILL have it, and it WILL flow to you with ease. . It is simply the law of attraction at work—your thoughts create a vibration that attracts similar vibrations to you. If you are constantly thinking “I’m broke” or “I can’t afford that” then you will remain stuck in those circumstances because that is what you are attracting. . Trust me when I say I am not perfect at this yet, but I have come a long way in deconstructing my old money mindset in order to build a new, healthy one. One that reminds me that I deserve wealth as much as the next person—that I am and have always been worthy of that. . So join me in flipping the script. Join me in effortlessly attracting financial abundance, because abundance in life is our birthright, and there is plenty for all of us to enjoy. . “I have all the money I could ever need” “Money flows to me effortlessly from many different sources” “I love money and money loves me” “I can find a way to afford that” . What money mantras work for you? How else do you practice attracting financial abundance?
A moment of pure bliss in my Remix Boxy Top from @encircled_ 💕 . You guys know that supporting ethical brands is always my top priority, which is why I own several pieces from this Canadian company. This sophisticated top is the newest (and probably my favorite) addition to my wardrobe. Casual yet flirty, and oh-so-comfortable. . All of their products are manufactured in Toronto under fair labor practices, their fabrics are made from sustainably grown, renewable materials like bamboo (which are also surprisingly soft and elegant) and they go to great lengths to reduce their global impact, whether it be using minimal and recycled packaging during shipping or saving and reusing excess fabric that gets upcycled into new products like hair accessories. . If you’re looking for conscious brands to support during this holiday season, you can’t go wrong with Encircled. Starting today through Dec 12th, you can even get free standard shipping when you use the code HOLIDAYSHIP18 at checkout 💌 Order by the 14th if you want it in time for the holidays! . I didn’t come to Hawaii to “find myself.” I don’t think I would’ve wound up here in the first place without understanding a few of my most fundamental truths, and finally finding the courage to speak them aloud. If anything, I’m just leaning into the person I’ve always been. Embracing my artistic expression and allowing myself to be truly vulnerable with it, because I really, really don’t give a shit what other people think anymore. Dancing alone in my apartment at night. Loving myself in ways I never have before. Reading all the books I’ve accumulated because I’m finally making time for it. Growing, opening, and expanding into the best version of myself yet. Playful and optimistic. Bold and honest. Wild and free. 🖤
Before leaving Washington for good, I had the opportunity to take photos of this beautiful soul right here. . There’s so much to admire about Liz, from her strength and tenacity as a wife, mother and business owner to her desire to uplift everyone around her. I had a lot to say on the topic though so rather than detailing it all for you here, I blogged about our shoot on kindredsoulstudios.com. Head to the link in my bio to read about our PNW portrait sesh and see more stunning photos of this amazing babe in her element 💕✨
⚡️⚡️⚡️ . Who else has a crystal obsession? Which ones are your favorite and what do you use them for? . I’m currently crushing on that big beautiful hunk of citrine (the yellow guy), my manifestation stone. I sit with it in meditation and tell it my hopes and dreams (in the present tense) and even keep it close while I work. It hasn’t failed me yet 💛 . Coincidentally, citrine (also known for bringing clarity and inspiration) was one of the first stones I ever bought for myself years back. It was a fraction of the size but I cherished it just as much. That was a pretty important turning point in my life and spiritual journey, and even though I didn’t manage to hold onto it through my many moves, I’ll always remember bringing it home in my pocket that day, a symbol of hope and optimism about what was waiting for me on the road ahead ✨
High atop Haleakalā, where earth meets sky; where grounding meets ascension; where you’ll find no service, but a far better connection. . . A friend graciously invited me on a camping trip into the crater not long after I arrived on the island. They’d reserved the cabin 6 months prior, if that tells you anything about what a privilege it was to be included. Everyone wants to feel Haleakalā’s heartbeat as they trek through her alien landscapes. Everyone wants to forget, at least momentarily, all that ails humanity as they gaze up at something far grander and more mysterious than the life they know. Outside of comfort is where we learn the most, and Haleakalā is certainly no exception. . Though I only spent one night here, I left the next day sunburned, sore, and changed. Nature will do that to you, every time. . Have you ever hiked in a place that changed you? For me there have been many—the Andes, Mount Roraima, the Sierra Madres, to name a few—this was just the most recent. My body might be reluctant at first, but in the end, gratitude is always the result.
It’s easy to be grateful when things are going right. Can you still practice gratitude when they’re not going how you’d hoped? Or even when circumstances are dire or tragic? . . In every moment, there is something to be grateful for, even if it’s just the lesson you’ve learned from a mistake or painful experience. Gratitude is ALWAYS available to you, and when it becomes a habit it WILL change your life for the better. . If I don’t get the client contract I want, I can remind myself that something better is likely on the way. I can’t always see the reason at first but I’ve come to trust that it’ll make itself clear to me in time. Maybe we wouldn’t have been a good fit, or maybe it would have prevented me from being available for an even better opportunity. All I can do is trust and be grateful. Things are working out exactly as they should. The same is true for you. . Love and light to all of you on this gorgeous December day 💙
We all have psychic gifts—the ability to sense things beyond the normal 5 senses. It’s just that not everyone has learned how to tap into them. . . I receive information from Spirit in a variety of ways, but this year has really driven the point home that clairsentience (“clear feeling” or “clear sensing”) is one of my most potent gifts. I’ve always considered myself an empath and often experience others’ emotions as if they’re my own, but lately I’m learning just how much deeper it goes. . When prompted for the reasons behind my move to Maui, for example, my most honest answer was “It’s more of a feeling.” I had a list of logical reasons to appease people, of course, but the truth is I just felt it in my heart that this was my time to be here. It was an “inner knowing” you might say. . On several occasions this year, I’ve also experienced the relief of physical pain following an emotional release. Over the summer as I helped my mom wade through 40 years’ worth of accumulated stuff in preparation for HER move to Maui, we unearthed plenty of old relics belonging to my dad. He’s been gone for 15 years now, but I still suspected I hadn’t done all the necessary healing, and boy was that hunch proven right. . As the summer wore on I developed pretty severe right shoulder pain, which has afflicted me on and off since (not-so-surprisingly) right around the age of 16 when my dad died. This summer the pain raged, and grew to the point of radiating up into my neck until I could barely turn my head. I chalked it up to the physical work we were doing and kept plugging away. . Then one evening, I found a mini “screenplay” that one of my dad’s coworkers had written with my dad as the main character. It spoke of his disillusionment with his job, made attempts at highlighting the difference he was making in his role, and touched on his alcohol addiction in a loving and supportive way. . I was so young when my parents separated that I never fully understood what he was going through or how many people had tried to help him. That night, I cried harder than I had in a VERY long time. . (Continued in comments)
When I start to feel like I’m not doing enough or moving toward my goals fast enough (a near-daily experience, quite frankly), it always helps to return to nature. Where nothing is hurried, nothing is forced, and nothing is resisted. An example of true surrender right outside my front door. . . Journaling is another valuable tool, because once I see my fears on paper, I can instantly see how absurd they are. I can see how much undue pressure I’m putting on myself and that it’s the opposite of helpful or motivating. Then, I can choose to be grateful instead. I can choose patience. I can choose to trust the divine timing of the universe (which always makes perfect sense in hindsight). . And if you need the reminder today, too, YOU’RE DOING GREAT. . You are right on track, you’re exactly where you are meant to be, and you’re doing the best you can with what you have. Be grateful for the challenges, keep visualizing where you want to go, and surrender to the universe’s timeline. . It’ll all work out. It always does.
You can take the girl out of Washington, but you’ll have to pry the @wa_state_wine out of her cold, dead hands 🤗 . . Enjoying the delightful ‘La Lutte’ Chardonnay from The Walls Vineyards, Walla Walla, Washington. . And for those of you wondering, yes, wine + beach + good company is indeed heaven on earth 💛✨🍷 . #wheresmywhitewineemoji#stillwaiting#WaWine#NewEpicenter#chardonnayallday#washingtonwines#winewednesday
Surrounding myself with creatives, artists, and movers and shakers has been absolutely pivotal to my growth this year. . . I’m thankful for each and every one of you with whom I’ve crossed paths—even if we’ve just corresponded over the interwebs. . Finding a tribe who thinks like you and really gets where you’re trying to go in life (which, for me, basically boils down to living more in line with my authentic self and purpose) matters more than you might think. . So surround yourself with people who will push you, encourage you, and give you stern-yet-kind reminders to cut the bullshit and stop making excuses. Your dreams—whatever they may be—really are possible. And your true soul tribe will never let you forget it.
I love capturing love. And there’s no way I could properly express my gratitude to those who let me capture theirs. . Being in front of a camera is a vulnerable thing. There’s definitely a bonding experience that takes place between subject and photographer. Because your essence can’t really shine through in a photo if you remain distant strangers. You have to let me in, so I can see the protected parts of your heart. But I promise I will always be gentle and only use the privilege as a way of reflecting your own beauty back to you. . Thank you, Lindsey and Coby, for letting me in 💙
upcountry 🧡 . . Maui is so much more than just beautiful beaches, but I never began exploring the upcountry (the western slope of Haleakala, a volcano that is still considered active) until recent years. My family tended to stick to the places we knew well, and spent our days out on the water as opposed to exploring the mountains or jungles. . Not that this was a bad thing, it’s just how we chose to experience Maui at that time. But I’m feeling very grateful that I discovered the upcountry when I did, and that I was even fortunate enough to make my home base here. It’s several degrees cooler than the coast on any given day, it’s not as popular with tourists, it’s lush and green and beautiful beyond my wildest imagination. . I could never be bored here because all I have to do is go for a walk or a drive and take in the majesty of this place. Oh, and as far as ocean views are concerned, there is no comparison. . Have you ever explored Maui’s upcountry? What did you love about it the most?
interacting with the world is important, but how well do you really know yourself? . Meditation has become my daily medicine, because it’s where I get all the important answers. It’s where I discover what past traumas (some recent, others from the distant past) still need healing. It’s from the quietude that “aha” moments arise and I gain clarity on the next steps for my business. It’s in silence where I suddenly remember where I left that thing I’ve been looking for for weeks. It is only from within that true personal transformation can take place. . Everything you need is already within you. All you have to do to find it, is absolutely nothing.
