The Belém parish of Lisbon is a must see area with beautiful waterfront views and many historic sites. The gothic Jerónimos Monastery and the Belém tower are the main attractions, but many many museums, Padrão dos Descobrimentos (monument of discovery) symbolizing 500 years since Henry the navigators death, Soldier memorials, parks and botanical gardens are also in the area making it a good place to spend a day.
Getting hypnotized at Rossio Square and then a birdseye view of the city from above the Santa Justa lift. You can really get a glimpse of the colorful buildings, the moorish Sao Jorge Castle, and Carmo Convent church that lost its roof in the earthquake of 1755. Wish I would of known you can just walk up to the viewpoint from the church so I could of saved 1.5 hours of my life waiting in line 🤦♂️.
Took a long walk on the beach from old town Lagos to ponta da piadade. Nice beaches, colorful water and awesome rock formations. The algarve coast seems to get better every stop and is some of the most beautiful coastline I’ve seen. Don’t sleep on Portugal and especially the algarve!
Pretty good view! This was a bucket list check for me. I saw this cave in a magazine about 10 years ago and put it on my OG travel list. The cave is swimable from the beach, but the water is cold and it’s a long way for a shit swimmer like me to doggie paddle. We rented kayaks, and the cave is definitely easier to get into than out of with the waves dumping our kayak. RIP to my tripod and @_shivaz_ flip flops.
