I’ve been cooped up for most of the week behind my computer. I’d like to think I have a good grasp on being thankful for where I live but sometimes I feel like I devalue it when I don’t get out regularly. This was a perfect reminder. A simple text to my friend @ryanaxiak, “let’s go rip a paddle” and we were on the river. So simple, so rejuvenating. Be thankful for what you’re surrounded by.
It’s sounds funny but I can remember looking at this view and thinking what in the world? It’s hard to capture the detail this mountain range holds in a simple photograph. Every ridge looked as if it had been hand sculpted for that moment.. for me. It blew my little mind. Home to no one but a few sheep, but hey, that’s all New Zealand is anyway right? Can you see them?
IMPORTANT: anyone remember when I said I was going to make a summer film on a 90s hi8 tape recorder? Some of you laughed, some of you got stoked and some of you thought it wouldn’t ever happen. Well I shot over 2 hours on it and it’s hilarious. This short takes you through the backside of what you normally see on Instagram - leading grade 12 boys from our local youth group, hosting international friends, working at Muskoka Woods, endless cottage days, exploring Ontario and everything in between. This camera sure isn’t pretty. Often sounds like an elephant is stepping on the mic but it’s a memory making machine. I wouldn’t trade any of this footage for the world. Cheers to more summers of fun, new friendships and warm weather. You were good summer 2018. Smell ya later!
Woke up today to a beautiful dusting of snow clearly signifying winter is here for good, so I thought. Seems that fall is still hanging on with all its got left. Blown away by the beauty I am so lucky to be surrounded by. @darrin_stevens worded it well when he said seasonal changes like this are good for the soul - they often freshen things up within us. Who’s ready for winter?
Soarin into arguably some of the bluest water in Canada right here in Ontario. I know, I know, you don’t believe this is Ontario. You are just gonna have to find this gem yourselves! Anyone know where this group of electric blue lakes reign is in ON? Yewwww!
The live version of COOKING WITH DAN. I’ve had a rising uproar of people wanting more from Dan and so here it is. Remember folks, the better it looks - the better it tastes. Once again, all you need is a @leathermancanada tool, some canned corned beef, cheese, a cucumber and wraps. The view isn’t needed but will for sure enhance the experience, haha. Who wants more of Daniel in the kitchen?
On todays episode of COOKING WITH DAN, Dan makes us all his go to meal with a @leathermancanada Signal tool, some canned corn beef, cucumber, cheese and wraps. If you asked Dan his thoughts on the “corned beef twists”, he would say it’s heaven wrapped in bread. My response may be a bit different 😂 what’s your go to outdoors meal? @leathermancanada#ForRealLife#sp
Meet Kerry. Great surfer, passionately living for good and the owner of this beautiful cabin on the ocean. Inspiring dude to say the least. Extremely blessed to hear some of his ideas on changing the world. We need more folks like you bro! Thankful for how he’s inspired me to treat this planet better.
It’s Thanksgiving here in Canada. Reflecting on the year I can’t help but be thankful for many things - family, opportunities and friendship. Specifically people I meet away from home who bless me beyond what’s deserved! So this year I’m celebrating you. Thank you to the moon and back to those of you I meet and become friends with, those of you who let me crash at your house, those of you who give when you don’t have to and most importantly, those who support me. Cheers folks, forever thankful. WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL FOR THIS YEAR?
