Gamla Stan is the oldest neighborhood in Stockholm and filled with cobblestone streets, beautiful medieval buildings and cozy coffee spots. The buildings are well preserved and its a great place to stroll around. ⠀ ⠀ Tip: Don’t forget to wear good walking shoes and bring a charged camera for the many photos you’ll take of this area ☺

Have you visited Stockholm before? I went my first time back in September and really loved it! ⠀ ⠀ Stockholm is made up of 14 islands connected by 57 bridges. We chose a hotel on the waterfront and got to see many cruising boats. ⠀ ⠀ There are so many boat tours offered and it seems like a fun and different way to experience the city. I wish we had done one! We were tight on time but definitely next time 😊

One of my favorite ways to experience a culture is through food. Whether it’s signing up for a local cooking class or indulging in a food tour, there is something about food that really helps you connect with a country and its people.⠀ ⠀ We’ve had the chance to taste new local dishes in Morocco, learn about different ingredients in Bali and explore a fruit & vegetable market in Peru. ⠀ ⠀ If you’re traveling to a new country I’d highly suggest signing up for a food related activity – it’s so much fun! You also get to eat a lot of delicious food which is always a plus 😊

Did you know that Cyprus is believed to have the world’s oldest wine? 🍷Commandaria is a sweet Cypriot wine dating back to the Ancient Greeks and is quite delicious! ⠀ The wine was served at King Richard the Lionheart’s wedding in Cyprus. He enjoyed it so much that he called Commandaria the "the wine of kings and the king of wines”. ☺

Can you believe these floor mosaics were actually part of someone's house? 😍 ⠀ ⠀ In the town of Paphos, there are several Roman villas with well-preserved floor mosaics like this one. ⠀ ⠀ I wouldn’t mind having floors like these! What about you?

In Cyprus, Christianity arrived early through the missionary work of St. Paul. There is a column here called St. Paul’s Pillar where it’s believed he was lashed for preaching Christianity. Next to the pillar is a beautiful little church to explore as well.

Next to Aphrodite’s Rock is a little pebbly beach where you can picnic or swim. The site is only 30 minutes from the towns of Limassol (where we were staying) and Paphos. ⠀ ⠀ Aphrodite’s Roman name is Venus and her birth was famously captured by the Italian painter Botticelli in The Birth of Venus painting. Google it if you haven't seen it - it's beautiful! ⠀

Happy Thanksgiving! Today is the perfect day to practice a little gratitude and reflect on what we're thankful for in our life 💕⠀ ⠀ 5 things I'm grateful for today: ⠀ ⠀ 1. Thankful for my wonderful husband @heytherehassan and his support, kindness and encouragement over the years. 2. Grateful for my friends and little IG community. I get a chance to learn and be inspired by you every day. ⠀ 3. Thankful for my cat Bambi who teaches me how to chill and that cat naps are the best therapy for stress 💤 ⠀ ⠀ 4. Grateful for my health and that I'm able to walk, see and breathe with ease 🙏⠀ ⠀ 5. Thankful that I live in safety and comfort. When I read the news I realize this is not the case for everyone and I'm grateful that I have this. ⠀ ⠀ What is 1 thing that you're thankful for this Thanksgiving? 🦃

Raise your hand if you struggle with perfectionism 🙋🏻⠀ ⠀ I used to think perfectionism was a good thing and meant I had high standards for myself. What I didn’t realize though was how perfectionism actually held me back. ⠀ ⠀ I held off starting many projects because I believed I had to have everything figured out. I felt afraid of making mistakes or doing crappy work. ⠀ ⠀ Realizing the importance of “progress over perfection” is when I got really comfortable starting where I am, doing my best and learning as I go along. ⠀ ⠀ I still struggle with perfectionism but I try to be kind to myself and focus on just making progress 😊⠀ ⠀ Is perfectionism something you struggle with too? Share with me in the comments below.

When visiting a new country I love learning about their wellness traditions & how they stay healthy. ⠀ ⠀ In Norway, I learned about Tran (cod liver oil), which is rich in omega-3, Vitamin A and Vitamin D. It’s a Norwegian tradition to take a tablespoon of tran every day for good health.⠀ ⠀ The most popular brand is Möller’s Tran and our hotel kept a bottle of it for guests at breakfast. Most guests ignored it (including my husband) but I really wanted to give it a try. Needless to say it tasted very fishy! I think I’ll stick with the capsules in the future ☺ ⠀

We were only in Oslo for a day and spent time exploring the Royal Palace and its lovely gardens. I really enjoyed walking in the royal park as it’s filled with beautiful flowers, ponds, sculptures and benches to sit on. It was a great place to relax and people watch 😊

On the train from Flam to Myrdal we stopped at this lovely waterfall believed to be haunted by Huldra, a forest creature who seduces men 😮⠀ ⠀ As we were taking photos, a woman dressed in red popped out and started dancing to a Norwegian folk song! Apparently students are hired from Norway’s ballet school to perform for visitors. It was pretty random but very cool ☺ ⠀

We saw so many tiny villages on our ferry trip through Sognefjord and I can only imagine how magical it must be to live here! We also saw people kayaking, camping and hiking in the area. ⠀ ⠀ I wish we had an extra day in Norway as I would have loved to stay in one of the charming towns we passed. If you ever visit definitely do that!⠀

Sognefjord is Norway’s longest fjord and is STUNNING. Seriously I was not prepared for just how beautiful this place is ✨⠀ ⠀ To explore Sognefjord we had to use a ferry, a bus and 3 different trains! We used Norway in a Nutshell to arrange for all our tickets. You can totally purchase the tickets separately but we found the Norway in a Nutshell service more convenient. ⠀ ⠀ The ferry takes you through the fjord and is a leisurely 2 hour ride. On both sides you’ll see lush mountains, waterfalls and cute little towns. It is magical!⠀

How beautiful are these houses? 😍 Bergen is only an hour flight from Oslo but you can also take the train if you have more time (its about 7 hours). We stayed in the old wharf area near these houses and it was the perfect location as many sites are within walking distance.

Bryggen is the old wharf in Bergen and known for its row of beautiful wooden houses from medieval times. The buildings were destroyed in a big fire in the 1700s but were later restored and are now a Unesco World Heritage site. ⠀ ⠀ Exploring Bryggen's narrow alleys is a lot of fun and there are a ton of cute little shops & boutiques here. Be prepared to take many photos 😊⠀
