The wide Hvítá river flows southward, and about a kilometre above the falls it turns sharply to the right and flows down into a wide curved three-step "staircase" and then abruptly plunges in two stages (11 metres or 36 feet, and 21 metres or 69 feet) into a crevice 32 metres (105 ft) deep. The crevice, about 20 metres (66 ft) wide and 2.5 kilometres (1.6 mi) in length, extends perpendicular to the flow of the river. The average amount of water running down the waterfall is 140 cubic metres (4,900 cu ft) per second in the summer and 80 cubic metres (2,800 cu ft) per second in the winter. The highest flood measured was 2,000 cubic metres (71,000 cu ft) per second. #gullfoss#waterfall#iceland#icelandtravel#iceland🇮🇸#icelandlandscape#icelandview#wanderlust#nature # travelgram #travel#europe#instatravel#visiticeland#picoftheday#explore#instagood#icelandic#travelblogger#like#like4like#comment#f4f#s4s#l4l#c4c#followback#shoutouts#likes#comments#fslcalways

peninsula situated to the west of Borgarfjörður, in western Iceland. It has been named Iceland in Miniature, because many national sights can be found in the area, including the Snæfellsjökull volcano, regarded as one of the symbols of Iceland. With its height of 1446 m, it is the highest mountain on the peninsula and has a glacier at its peak (jökull means "glacier" in Icelandic). The volcano can be seen on clear days from Reykjavík, a distance of about 120 km. The mountain is also known as the setting of the novel Journey to the Center of the Earth by the French author Jules Verne. The area surrounding Snæfellsjökull has been designated one of the four National Parks by the government of Iceland. #snaefellsens#peninsula#iceland#icelandtravel#iceland🇮🇸#icelandlandscape#icelandview#wanderlust#nature # travelgram #travel#europe#instatravel#visiticeland#picoftheday#explore#instagood#icelandic#travelblogger#like#like4like#comment#f4f#s4s#l4l#c4c#followback#shoutouts#likes#comments#fslcalways

The Skógafoss is one of the biggest waterfalls in the country with a width of 15 metres (49 feet) and a drop of 60 m (200 ft). Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days. According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area, Þrasi Þórólfsson, buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall. The legend continues that locals found the chest years later, but were only able to grasp the ring on the side of the chest before it disappeared again. #skogafoss#waterfall#icelandtravel#iceland@travelbloggeres@inspiring.destinationst#nature#travel#traveling#TFLers#vacation#visiting#instatravel#instago#instagood#trip#holiday#photooftheday#fun#travelling#tourism#tourist#instapassport#instatraveling#mytravelgram#travelgram#travelingram#igtraveller#likesforlikes#comment4comment#followback@icelandtravel@bustraveliceland@beyondthelands@wheniniceland@guidetoiceland

Reynisfjaller mountain in Mýrdalur in Vestur-Skaftafellssýsla county and runs into the sea between Reynishverfiskur and Víkur. The mountain is quite large, about 5 km in length from north to south and 800 m in width between the widest edges. The highest is about 340 meters, but to the south, out by the sea, it is 149 meters. Out of the mountain, into the sea, are Reynisdrangar. The slope of the mountain is very steep, rocky above, but below most of the vegetation. At the southernmost point of the mountain, there are beautiful cobblestones and caves. There is a lot of puffins. Up the mountain lies a road that was made during the war years, when the Americans erected a lava field on the mountain, and was later reformed. He is said to be the steepest mountain road in Iceland. The ring road now lies over Reynisfjall inwardly, but it has been discussed to move the road closer to the sea and lay it around the Reynish district and make the tunnel through Reynisfjall. #Reynisfjaller#nature#travel#traveling#TFLers#vacation#visiting#instatravel#instago#instagood#trip#iceland#photooftheday#fun#travelling#tourism#tourist#instapassport#instatraveling#mytravelgram#travelgram#travelingram#igtraveller#likesforlikes#icelandtravel#comment4comment#followback#likealways#commentback#icelandtravel#icelandnature@bustraveliceland@beyondthelands@wheniniceland@guidetoiceland

Kerið (occasionally Anglicized as Kerith or Kerid) is a volcanic crater lake located in the Grímsnes area in south Iceland, along the Golden Circle. It is one of several crater lakes in the area, known as Iceland's Western Volcanic Zone, which includes the Reykjanes peninsula and the Langjökull Glacier, created as the land moved over a localized hotspot, but it is the one that has the most visually recognizable caldera still intact. The caldera, like the other volcanic rock in the area, is composed of a red (rather than black) volcanic rock. The caldera itself is approximately 55 m (180 ft) deep, 170 m (560 ft) wide, and 270 m (890 ft) across. Kerið's caldera is one of the three most recognizable volcanic craters because at approximately 3,000 years old, it is only half the age of most of the surrounding volcanic features. The other two are Seyðishólar and Kerhóll. While most of the crater is steep-walled with little vegetation, one wall is sloped more gently and blanketed with a deep moss, and can be descended fairly easily. The lake itself is fairly shallow (7–14 metres, depending on rainfall and other factors), but due to minerals from the soil, is an opaque and strikingly vivid aquamarine. #carter#kerio#kerid#nature#travel#traveling#TFLers#vacation#visiting#instatravel#instago#instagood#trip#photooftheday#fun#travelling#tourism#tourist#instapassport#instatraveling#mytravelgram#travelgram#travelingram#likesforlikes#comment4comment#followback#likealways#commentback#icelandtravel#iceland title="@icelandtravel" href="/icelandtravel" class="media-footer__link">@icelandtravel@bustraveliceland@beyondthelands@wheniniceland@guidetoiceland

The Faxi (or Vatnsleysufoss) waterfall is located on the Golden Circle, a popular tourist trail east of Reykjavik. The waterfall is located on the Tungufljót river. Faxi can be found around twelve kilometres from Geysir and Gullfoss, and eight kilometres from Skalholt, away from the main road on a gravel track which includes a picnic area and a small car park. The waterfall is full of salmon and is a popular spot for fishing, and very close to the waterfall is a restaurant called Vid Faxa. #faxi#nature#travel#traveling#vacation#visiting#instatravel#instago#instagood#trip#holiday#photooftheday#fun#travelling#tourism#tourist#instapassport#instatraveling#mytravelgram#travelgram#travelingram#igtraveller#likesforlikes#comment4comment#followback#likealways#commentback#icelandtravel#waterfall#iceland title="@icelandtravel" href="/icelandtravel" class="media-footer__link">@icelandtravel@bustraveliceland@beyondthelands@wheniniceland@guidetoiceland

The Great Geysir, is a geyser in southwestern Iceland. It was the first geyser described in a printed source and the first known to modern Europeans. The English word geyser (a periodically spouting hot spring) derives from Geysir. The name Geysir itself is derived from the Icelandic verb geysa ("to gush") the verb from Old Norse. Geysir lies in the Haukadalur valley on the slopes of Laugarfjall hill, which is also the home to Strokkur geyser about 50 metres (160 ft) south. Eruptions at Geysir can hurl boiling water up to 70 metres (230 ft) in the air. However, eruptions may be infrequent, and have in the past stopped altogether for years at a time. . The research of sinter shows that Geysir has been active for approximately 10,000 years. The oldest accounts of hot springs at Haukadalur date back to 1294, when earthquakes in the area caused significant changes in local neighbouring landscape creating several new hot springs. Changes in the activity of Geysir and the surrounding geysers are strongly related to earthquake activity. In records dated 1630 the geysers erupted so violently that the valley around them trembled. #geysir#nature#travel#traveling#TFLers#vacation#visiting#instatravel#instago#iceland#icelandtravel#instagood#trip#holiday#photooftheday#fun#travelling#tourist#instapassport#laugarfjall#instatraveling#mytravelgram#travelgram#travelingram#igtraveller#likesforlikes#comment4comment#followback#likealways#commentback@bustraveliceland@beyondthelands@guidetoiceland

The views the Old Harbour are some of the best in Reykjavík. Across Faxaflói Bay, passed the docked sailing boats, are a wealth of natural landscapes. To the north is the flat-topped Mount Esja, the most popular hiking spot in the country, and in very clear weather, you’ll be able to see the stunning Snæfellsnes Peninsula and its crowning glacier #faxaflói#oldharbour#downtown 🏙🏘🏙#iceland#travelblogger#city#travelgoals#photooftheday#likesforlikes#tbt#view#travelling#trip#TFLers#photooftheday#follow4follow#like4like#travel#instalike#igers#picoftheday#instadaily#instafollow#followme#instagood#bestoftheday#instacool#instago#all_shots#follow#webstagram title="@wheniniceland" href="/wheniniceland" class="media-footer__link">@wheniniceland@iceland.explore@icelandtravel@iceland.71

My friend for today calles pitla 🐎 she is really good girl and likes to eat a lot 🌱 . Icelandic horses weigh between 330 and 380 kilograms  and high an average 132 and 142 cm high, which is often considered pony size, but the icelandic people may offend if you call their horses " pony" . The neck is short, muscular, and broad at the base; the withers broad and low; the chest deep; the shoulders muscular and slightly sloping; the back long; the croupbroad, muscular, short and slightly sloping. The legs are strong and short, with relatively long cannon bones and short pasterns. The mane and tail are full, with coarse hair, and the tail is set low. #horse#iceland#riding#nature#cloudporn#photooftheday#farm#tbt#travelblogger#travelling#trip#TFLers#photooftheday#follow4follow#like4like#travel#instalike#igers#picoftheday#instadaily#instafollow#instagood#bestoftheday#instacool#instago#all_shots#follow#webstagram#icelandichorse#icelandtravel#icelandnature@iceland.explore@icelandtravel@iceland.71

The Castel dell'Ovo is the oldest standing fortification in Naples. The island of Megaride was where Greek colonists from Cumaefounded the original nucleus of the city in the 6th century BC. Its location affords it an excellent view of the Naples waterfront and the surrounding area. In the 1st century BC the Roman patrician Lucius Licinius Lucullusbuilt the magnificent villa Castellum Lucullanum on the site. Fortified by Valentinian III in the mid-5th century, it was the site to which the last western Roman emperor, Romulus Augustulus, was exiled in 476. #castledellovo#castle#travelblogger#travelling#trip#italy#hotel#naples#TFLers#photooftheday#follow4follow#like4like#travel#instalike#igers#picoftheday#vacation#instadaily#instafollow#followme#instagood#bestoftheday#instacool#instago#all_shots#follow#webstagram#summer#sun@travellikeagirl#likeback
