The Junior School Drama Club took on Shakespeare's greatest tragedy "Macbeth". During the rehearsal process, pupils from Lower Two and Upper Two were told the outline of the story, they then worked on little scenes, improvising and using play to draw out characters and experiment with style. As a result, we had an unusual portrayal of the witches as little girls in white and the cast created the set, including castle and drawbridge. #macbeth#thescottishplay#drama#acting#theatre#education#school#independentschool#coeducational#exeterjuniorschool#exeter

Some Monday inspiration! Why not book your tickets for the Choral Society concert, held this Thursday, in Exeter Cathedral, and listen to Part 2 of the Messiah, including the Hallelujah Chorus, and also Poulenc's Gloria? Current Sixth Formers Isabella Flashman, Elizabeth Pittman, Francesca Vercoe, Ettejean Girvin, Lily Alford and Emily Moudiotis have been invited to sing solo parts in Handel's Messiah. Head of Modern Foreign Languages Mick Latimer has a bass solo in the Messiah joined by English and Drama teacher Chris Harknett who will be taking on a tenor solo. The soprano solo part in the Poulenc will be sung by Exeter School alumna Bethany Partridge (2006-2011), who is now an internationally renowned professional singer. Tickets from the Box Office. Thanks to Packexe for their generous support of this concert for the eighth year running. #mondayinspiration#rainbow#nofilter#choralsociety#choralsoc#choral#choralmusic#singing#sing#concert#cathedral#exetercathedral#education#school#opportunity#independentschool#solo#soloist#soprano#tenor#bass#music#schoolmusic#musician#event#exeter#exeterschool#alumni

As part of the school sponsorship package with Exeter City FC, which involves an advertising board at St James's Park, we were delighted that one of the club's star players, Nicky Law, came to present the awards at the annual U9 Exeter Junior School Tournament. The players in the tournament thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to pose questions about his career to date. We found out that one of his most noteworthy goals was a penalty for Rangers against Celtic in the Old Firm derby! #ECFC#football#footballer#player#sponsor#sponsorship#exeter#exeterschool#exeterjuniorschool#tournament#independentschool#school#education

Since the introduction of the new indoor swimming pool, swimming has gone from strength to strength and has been an integral part of the curriculum and extra curricular programme. This term, over 80 Junior School pupils from across the year groups have participated in two lunch clubs. They have enjoyed getting in the pool to either become more water confident through playing games, or using the lane to develop stroke technique and swim for fitness. With the specialist input from Mr Davies, a qualified swimming coach, as well as the Junior School staff and Sixth Form lifeguards, pupils have been able to progress accordingly. #swimming#swim#swimmingpool#indoorpool#education#opportunity#lifeskills#fitness#sport#school#exeterschool#independentschool#coeducational
