I always admired people who were able to get that lean. ⠀ Here we are, 8 days away from the end of my cut and I’ve accomplished my goal. 💢I recently realised how much of my training I spent developing core strength. Learning to generate body tension, and also control my breathing. It teaches good habits which are key to making it easier to learn more difficult progressions . 💢 Here’s a few exercises that are good for teaching body tension while developing strength. Also great progression for Dragon Flags 🐲🇬🇧 . ❌ Try to control the negative and maintain body tension throughout. ❌PPT (posterior pelvic tilt) / tuck your tailbone. Keep your core engaged. Protects the lower back. ❌ Exhale as you lower legs, inhale as you raise them. . 🔥👊🏼 Tag someone who’s been neglecting ab work ‼️👊🏼 . . ❌ DEADBUGS 1. Bent leg 2. DUMBBELL ONLY SHOULDER WORKOUT! . These are simple exercises that are DA BOOOOMB!! The best part is... all you need are some dumbbells!! . . Lateral raises: y’all KNOW I love my lateral raises. Slight lean forward, shoulders back, chest up, drive through the elbows as you raise the arms! . . Standing Arnold press: sloooowwww it down. Focus on engaging your lats and relaxing your shoulders down your back as you rotate the arms out. . Alternating front raise: for these hands facing in towards each, as always, shoulders back chest up core tight, control the raise. Do not rock to get the dumbbells up. . Around the world!! Think of it as a jumping jack movement, again, just slooooowed down! Stick to a lighter weight and higher reps to really feel that engagement. . . . PS! How do you get abs? Get leaner. HOWEVER, exactly how lean you will need to get in order for them to become visible depends mostly on 2 factors. (1) your genetic distribution of bodyfat, and (2) how much muscle mass you carry. . You can't control your genetics, so let's focus on muscle mass. To put it bluntly, if you want abs, YOU WANT TO MAXIMIZE THE AMOUNT OF MUSCLE MASS YOU CARRY. Someone with more muscle mass can look good and lean at a much higher bodyfat percentage that someone who does not have much muscle. . The more advanced your muscular development, the better you will look at ANY bodyfat. Women, you don't need to worry about "getting bulky". It won't happen unless you train with specifically that goal in mind for 3+ years. Women who don't want to get bulky "getting bulky" from lifting weights is an absolute myth that needs to be buried. . Want to maximize your muscle mass?
