Muscle ranges? What the hell is that
Train Muscle Ranges by @trainwithcarsen _ Muscle ranges? What the hell is that? This is an area that I see a lot of guys are unaware of. Which is not good because training muscle ranges offers a HUGE return on gains. _ Let’s use the biceps as an example - you see, most guys just knock out some of their favorite bicep exercises, get a little pump going, and call it a day. While sure, this can be useful for building muscle, you are not maximally working the biceps. You’re leaving gains on the table man! _ There are 3 ranges to a muscle contraction - 1️⃣The shortened range - when the muscle is maximally contracted. 2️⃣Mid Range - this is the middle range of a movement. 3️⃣Lengthened Range - when the muscle is stretched. _ By working all three rep ranges effectively, you are able to target a much larger range of muscle fibers which contributes to maximal muscle gains. Let’s talk about how to effectively work all 3 ranges. _ THE SHORTENED RANGE✅ - is all about squeezing the muscle when it is in its shortened position (fully contracted). SO - this would be like working the top portion of a preacher Curl for your biceps. The top of the movement is where the bicep is fully contracted. Squeeze there for the greatest outcome. _ THE MID RANGE✅- the mid range is best used when working through an exercises and focusing on keeping tension on the muscle. So this would be like working through cable bicep curls and focusing on keeping the tension on the muscle to build up a pump. _ THE LENGTHENED RANGE✅- is best used to create muscle damage. This refers to working the muscle while in a stretched position. This can be seen during an incline dumbbell Curl. If you live in a cold ass area like me trust me from experience I know it’s to difficult to lose all that excess fat in time for the summer. Just save yourself the hassle and stay ahead! P.s enjoy the journey it’s a beautiful process that takes time and patience. Everyday is a new beginning so don’t worry if you fail I’ve failed many times and this has honestly been the most consistent journey to date and at times it can be difficult but you grow mentally and physically stronger from anything that challenges you. WOD: ✅10 minutes treadmill run ✅ Crunches (10 lb dumbbells) (45x4) ✅ Push-ups (no knees) (23x4) ✅ Chin Assist (30 lb assist) (8x4) ✅ Dip Assist (30 lb assist) (8x4) ___________________________________For quite some time it had been a bucket list item for me to complete a marathon in my lifetime (more specifically before I turn 40). Last week I registered for my first marathon, which is the Las Vegas Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon! I am excited, nervous, and feeling a little bit crazy as I haven’t ran more than a little over 13.1 miles at a time, ever! For those of you that don’t know me but have recently started following me, I’ve been a runner since I was 12. I ran competitively in grade school and high school track and cross country. I contemplated running competitively in college but determined getting finished with school in 4 years was more important. Anyway, I feel racing a marathon has been a long time coming after increasing my distance and training knowledge over the years. And by including the ball you’re also using your legs to keep your whole body stable. And let’s not forget arms you’re holding your body weight and also keeping it stabilized as your bringing your legs up and down. So with this workout not only would your abs be on fire but legs/arms as well. 3 set 3-5 reps best way to get results would be at a very steady paste. I'll usually use abs and cardio as a way to break up my workout when I'm getting fatigued so I can come back stronger on my next set! * Angle is everything in these exercises, so play around with low or no weight until you've got the movements down! * Circuit 1 was mid-workout and Circuit 2 was just before heading home. Both circuits were repeated 3 times with minimal rest! * Finally, remember that like all muscles, abs are torn in the gym, fueled at the table and restored in your sleep. Circuit #2 - 4 rounds 3️⃣extended leg raises (10) 4️⃣ no clue what to call these/ sideways extended raises Circuit #3 - 4 rounds 5️⃣ overheard plate sit-ups (20) 6️⃣10 russian twists/10 V-ups/ 10 weave plate inbetween legs lol 7️⃣ elevated plank - 10 toe taps and 10 mountain climbers (4x)

I always make sure I stretch out thoroughly to avoid any injuries/ pulled muscles. *also recommend stretching out afterwards as well* QUAD WORKOUT Single Leg Press - 3 sets x 10 reps each leg Leg Press - 3 sets x 12 reps Leg Extension - 3 sets x 10 reps GLUTE WORKOUT One Legged Side Press - 3 sets x 10 reps each leg Kickbacks - 3 sets x 10 reps each leg Squats - 3 sets x 10 reps Lunges - 3 sets x 10 reps each leg Hip Thrusts - 4 sets x 10 reps AB WORKOUT Seated Ab Crunch - 3 sets x 30 sec. reps Seated Lateral Scissor Kicks - 3 sets x 30 sec. reps
