Sultana, daughter of Noor taking a break in the shade on a hot summer morning in Zone 1 of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. When we saw her, she hadn't eaten in the recent past evident from the shape of her body. She was on a hunt and was stalking a group of Sambar deers nearby. She was probably waiting for us to leave. So, after a few quick pictures, we were off on our way leaving her in peace. Thankfully it was nearing the end of the morning safari slot, and so I imagine she wouldn't have been disturbed by other jeeps either. #sultana#tigress#hunting#royalbengaltiger#bigcats#ranthambore#fort#nationalparks#preservation#india#naturephotography#nature#forest#wildlifeindia#wildlifephotography#conservation#safari#gamedrive#bbcearth#wildlifephoto#indiaphotography#animalphotography#tigersofindia#savethetiger#savehabitat#natgeoindia#predator#indianwildlifeofficial#yourshotphotographer#capturemoments@indianwildlifeofficial@ranthambore_wildlife_official@bbcearth@natgeoyourshot

The Oriental or the Indian Darter Ranthambore National Park. Its flexible vertebrae allow it to rapidly dart its neck forward to spear fish while hunting under water. Did you know the darter swims inside the water with only its long slender neck outside the water, often resembling a snake? As a result, it is often colloquially called the Indian Snake Bird. #indian#oriental#darter#tropical#snake#bird#ranthambore#picture#indiaphotography#naturephotography#nature#wild#wildlife#birding#wildlifephotography#birdsofinstagram#habitat#birdphotography#instagram#safari#traveldiaries#india#wildlifeaddicts#naturalhistory#fauna#conservation#habitat#naturelovers#summer#travel@nikonindiaofficial@nikonasia@bbcearth@sanctuaryasia

Indian Sloth Bear (Melursus Ursinus Ursinus) - Mother and Cub @ Ranthambore Nati
Indian Sloth Bear (Melursus Ursinus Ursinus) - Mother and Cub Ranthambore National Park. Despite its name, sloth bears are not sloths at all but are bears, and unlike sloths, they can move quite fast and outrun a human if it comes to that. Their extremely thick coats makes it difficult for other predators, mainly tigers, to attack them. Their aggressive nature and sharp claws can do much damage, which is why they are best left alone. Did you know their rear paw print resembles that of a human's? #slothbear#cub#bear#apex#predator#bearfamily#ranthambore#nationalpark#jungle#india#naturephotography#nature#forest#wildlifeindia#wildlifephotography#conservation#safari#gamedrive#wildlifephoto#indiaphotography#animalphotography#bearsofinstagram#savehabitat#natgeoindia#travel#travelphotography#traveldiaries#nikonasia#biodiversity#endangeredspecies
