If you marinate them beforehand, they taste phenomenal🍄! Second, black kale stays bright green but not dull and dark green colour the other day when you reheat them. That means my lunch will stay as vibrant (not really that vibrant🤣) as it was the night before🥬. Last, as a source of protein, you can never go wrong with some decent priced frozen shrimp🦐 and they are fast to cook. . #Ingredients: - 2 £1 coin sized korean glass noodle - 250g of mushroom - 1 cup of frozen shrimp - 2 leaves of black kale - some sesame seeds - soy sauce - sugar - sesame oil . After a few attempts, I can happily say that I have came up with the recipe🤤! . #Ingredients: - 600g of fresh mussels - 3 heaped tbsp of butter - 2 heaped tbsp of garlic granules - chopped parsley (optional) . The mussels in the first picture are over cooked because I was frying some shrimp at the same time and I forget about the mussels🙈. I randomly went into this coffee shop opposite to the Pantheon. I would recommend their espresso if you can tolerate the bitterness☕️. #erinitaly [🇬🇧] I went to #letavernelle that my boyfriend’s friend recommended for my first dinner in Rome. . My favourite dish was the starter - grilled porcini mushroom🍄. They used olive oil, garlic and parsley to grill the mushroom. It tasted like the savoury version of grilled marshmallow as it was so soft that it melted in my mouth🤤. The artichokes were soft and savoury. . I love how garlicky the clam spaghetti was, the only downside was there was too much oil in the spaghetti😅. . My boyfriend’s dish was slightly different from the normal spaghetti that I’ve seen. It was thicker than mine. Not sure if it’s a traditional spaghetti in Italy🍝. . It was the best restaurant I’ve tried for the three nights that I’ve stayed in Rome and will definitely recommend it. However, if your digestive system is sensitive to oil, you may want to avoid the artichoke and the clam spaghetti. . They used serve it with a traditional clear yellow looking sauce that tasted a bit tangy, sweet and spicy🐟🍋🌶. The new sauce is more on the savoury side with a nice kick from the deep fried shallot🤤. . They also do rice dish, papaya salad, Vietnamese drip coffee and of course PHO. (Still, Bun is my favourite🤓!) . On the other hand, it’s a good place for #zerowasters ♻️. They provide metal folks and metal / ceramic spoons🍴. You can also use your own container for bubble tea! . I have been eating this porridge for over six months and all I need to do is to do a bit of quick pouring. Then, add hot milk or hot water in the office/school. A hot and healthy breakfast is ready to serve! . A tip is to separate the ingredients into different layers like the 1st pic, I find it a lot easier to mix. . I used to buy those ready made porridge from the shops, but I wanted to incorporate more ‘zerowaste’ (not so zero yet as the flaxseed came in a plastic package👆🏼) into my day to day life (not just bathroom products or bring my cutleries), I tried to buy dried food from the zerowaste shops in Bristol / buy porridge that came in a non-plastic package. Not only minimising the chance of eating plastic when I eat seafood in the future, but also control what to eat in my porridge (Let’s be honest here, I don’t really like nuts in my porridge😆). . It tasted like what I have had in Bangkok and topped with a bit of crushed peanuts and most importantly, chopped pickled radish (unlike most of the pad thai I have tried in England which tasted like Singapore fried flat noodles instead of pad thai🤷🏻‍♀️). The pad pak (oyster sauce) vegetables is my second favourite. I can tell that they used high heat to fry the veg🔥which I can’t really do at home😂. . I paired this strong floral scented gin (1 1/2 shot) with a can of @fevertreemixers light tonic water and some gooseberries (the gooseberries didn’t give any extra flavour though😅). Also added an edible flower for decoration🌺. . #erskitchen [🇬🇧] Since I have no experience in cooking saffron aioli, I have been researching for their recipes on YouTube and combined two recipes together; using butter, onions, white wine, cream, salt and most importantly saffron to make the sauce. They didn’t taste exactly like what I had in the restaurant two weeks back but it’s okay😝. Hope one day I will be able to actually recreate the dish and share the recipe with all of you. . #erinbristol [🇬🇧] Finally tried the summer menu from @harveynichols. I ordered the £25 3 course menu with a set cocktail (with 10% service charge). . Sakura Spritzer🍹: Made with @suntory_rokugin. Had a refreshing and not overly sweet taste🌸. . Sides: I honestly can’t remember what’s the puff like side was. It’s slightly salty. The olives were better than expected. I hate olives but these don’t have a strong olive flavour, that’s why I like them😜. . Mackerel starter🐟: The mint leaves go surprisingly well with the mackerel. I might go to Asda and get a whole fresh mackerel this weekend and try recreate it myself. . Roasted hake fillet main🐟: This is my favourite out of the whole meal. I think the rainbow chard might have been cooked with the saffron aioli broth? Or they are just really fresh? It tased and smell so different from what I have had before. To prove this, I will go and get some basic (aka low price😆) saffron this weekend. . Lavender cake🍰: A light lavender flavour, not over powering baked with fresh apricot and chopped almond. It wouldn’t be as sweet as all other western dessert, even if you have it with the honey ice cream. . Will definitely go back when a new menu for next season is out😋. .
