If you want to experience something that is truly authentic, just go to the Dubai Creek in Al Fahidi and get on an abra to Al Ras (Deira Old Souq Station). Expect one of the cheapest fares in your life – 1 dirham (~€0.24) / person which is collected by the “captain”. I don’t know if it’s the same on all islands but on Kuredu you literally live together with nature. It starts with the resort’s barefoot policy – staff and guests are encouraged to forget their shoes while they are on the island to be in direct contact with the nature. And of course, it is very good for your soles as well which you can feel already after a day!
