It’s not often I get to stack that many ‘blues’ onto the barbell, so had to get my dude @wearefrenship to grab a shot of it! I’m on a quest to hit a 500 pound deadlift. Still a long ways ago, but making my way. As I always say, progress through perseverance! What’s one fitness goal you have in mind for 2019? Hit your strength piece, hit your metcon, then finish your day with this conditioning piece on the @concept2inc bike erg: Every 5 minutes for 3 rounds complete: 2,000m for men, 1,500m for women (3:42, 3:35, 3:32) Every 2:30 for 4 rounds complete: 1,000m for men, 750m for women (1:46, 1:44, 1:42, 1:39) Every 1:15 for 5 rounds complete: 500m for men, 375m for women (:49, :52, :49, :50, :47) Your score of the workout is your total time spent biking. So all my times combined equals 21:47. Set a running clock at the start of the workout, and record your splits throughout. The duration of the entire workout is 32:15, and you get to rest in the spare time between sets, providing you completed the required distance in time. This sequence is awesome. Legs and lungs baby! Burpees - I used to hate them. While I can’t say I love them yet, I can say my appreciation for their effectiveness has grown immensely. They are one of the most fundamental movements, not only in athletics, but in life in general. The ability to lay down, and get up, is paramount to a persons independence in life. In more primitive times, it would have been necessary for hunting in order to survive. It was also, and will continue to be, necessary to be able to sleep independent of help. Burpees, and especially burpees over a barbell, are a full body movement. You will feel them most in your core, chest, legs, and lungs. If they are not currently part of your training program, I urge you to reconsider. Your present, and future self, will thank you! #functionalfitness
