Gnome House Cake for my Husbands Birthday in January! Swipe to see more! It's all edible even the pebbles and mushrooms are made from vanilla and chocolate tootsie rolls and colored sugar crystal along with the vines & flowers around the door. The top cake is French vanilla with brown butter white chocolate ganache. Covered by fondant I custom colored and blended in patches of color to get the spotted look as I rolled out the fondant..2nd layer the stump is 2 6" bundt pound cakes with red velvet Oreo buttercream. Also covered by slightly marbled fondant to copy the colors of the stems. The final bottom layer the rock pedestal is a dark chocolate buttermilk cake with hazelnut buttercream covered in my custom colored and blended black marbled fondant. The ladybugs were made by me and a friend Fina G. And she also made the little girl gnome I made the boy. I did all the rest of the work on the house. The big rock is white & milk chocolate poured and textured over a rock sugar geode I made just pouring a sugar syrup I made with some food color & edible glitter into tin foil and give it 48 hours to set then letting Amy liquid dry off completely then poured white chocolate over it and went over it with milk & dark chocolate just tapping at it mixing the white chocolate with the other 2 chocolates causing the more rock look. I sprinkled some white sugar crystals on it at the end to give it more geode texture even over the chocolate.
