You'll often hear their trademark high pitched whistle before you see stretched out, soaking up the sun on a boulder. . . #marmot#hoarymarmot#wildlife#canadianwildlife#banff#banffnationalpark

Pets are a special part of the family, so if you’d like to bring your furry friends along for an adventure in Banff and Lake Louise, read up on these tips from our friends at @BanffNP and enjoy these photos of some of our favourite, four-legged, #MyBanff explorers! . Off-leash dogs can trigger aggressive behaviour from wildlife like grizzly bears and elk. To keep you, the wildlife and your pets safe, dogs must be on a leash and under control at all times. . While your furry friends are welcome in Banff National Park, it is your responsibility to: - *Have your dog on a leash and under control at all times.* - Clean up after your dog and dispose of the waste in a wildlife-proof bin. - To know which trails dogs are allowed, visit: parkscanada.gc.ca/banfftrails. - Avoid trails that have seasonal trail restrictions and closures, as dogs are not permitted. - Consider leaving your dog at home if you plan to camp, hike or go into the backcountry. . 1. 📷: @mika_the_mini_aussie - "Every mountain top is in reach if you just keep climbing." 2. 📷: @alberta_adventurelabs - "The happiest little flower and her handsome guardian." 3. 📷: @icedsnowberry - "Nova doin' his best mountain goat impression." 4. 📷: @sunshinevillage - "Today we welcome our newest employee, Heidi.
