Having a daughter I have been fortunate to witness the special moments young girls share with young women that just isn’t the same amongst boys. The way young women mentor younger girls is a something extremely special. I see it all the time when #badbitch is around the @wsl tour and how she interacts with the women on tour. It is a special bond. This year the @wsl has recognized that bond and brought forth the #risingtides sessions to be held at every event where young girls get to surf with the pros on tour. It has been an opportunity to literally make little girls’ dreams come true. Isabel came in from riding a few waves with @stephaniegilmore yesterday and told me it was the “best wave of her life”. Thank you to all that made this a possibility. I think it is greater than you could ever imagine. I literally can’t stop crying. @jessmileydyer@rosyhodge@courtneyconlogue@fayezoetmulder@chlojima@biancabuitendag 📷 @badboyryry_@edsloanephoto@bradylaw
#badbitch flies up front or she don’t fly at all. Got the same crazy deal I got last year on @latamairlines to come to Jbay. It was as cheap or in some cases cheaper in business than what some friends paid to fly coach to South Africa. The fare deal originated in Miami so I had to get there first on a separate ticket but well worth it. We flew Philadelphia > Miami > Chile > Brazil > Johannesburg > Port Elizabeth. I could have gone straight to Brazil from Miami but it was the same price to transit through Chile and I would earn a ton more miles towards my @americanair status for next year. This is the longest trip I do all year and the best one to go lay flat the whole way. ✈️🛏
Sometimes things break your way and sometimes they don’t. 2018 was a tough one with plenty of tears spilled into my coach class seats. I even finished the year throwing away two international SWU upgrades. 2019 has been an amazing year for me and flying up front. Both ways Miami to Rio my free SWU upgrades on @americanair cleared. Momentum is building and I plan on wearing the business class yellow jersey for the rest of 2019. ✈️🥂🛏
There used to be an account on here called @worldsleepleague It was an account started by myself @jadsonandre@koloheandino22 and @mfanno because we were the biggest sleepers in the comp area. We never reveled who ran the account and I kinda thought it was just going to be us on there. We ended up posting anyone asleep at the contests and it started to really gain some traction. People used to fear taking a nap at the event and would find clever ways to hide from us. When we got to 50k followers the account got hacked, stolen and probably sold. We couldn’t get it back because we didn’t remember the password to the email account we started it with. This guy would have been our MVP. Slept in the comp area all night last night with his teddy bear. Was still sound asleep an hour into the contest starting.
Stepping off a plane exhausted, jet lagged with a laundry list of chores isn’t any fun. All I want to do when I arrive is hit the beach and go straight to work. For the few times a year I fly @americanair all the way to a location and back I’m allowed three bags at 70lbs each. I max those things out. I don’t love going to the grocery store first day exhausted, not knowing my way around with all the labels in a foreign language. So I just hit the grocery store at home instead and it makes my life that much easier when I land. 🌭✈️🛒
Sydney to LAX. One of the hardest flights to clear an upgrade on in the entire @americanair system. There is only one flight a day with the smaller 787 on this route containing only 28 business class seats. When trying to change my date to leave West Oz I used the expert flyer website to decide which day’s flight had the most open business class seats. I could have departed the day the event finished but there was only one seat available. I decided to stay on an extra 24 hours to have a chance at one of 10 open business class seats. Very rare to see that many seats open on this flight. I used a free system wide upgrade to jump up from economy to business. 🥂 🛏
There is usually one flight a year where I cry tears of misery. Then there is one flight a year where I cry tears of joy. My route to Bali was soaked in tears of joy. 43 hours total transit time and all of it hurt my face from smiling. First flight from Philly to LAX, free upgrade to a lay flat seat via my @americanair status. Six hour layover at LAX I went to go see some good friends @bigbadwolfpop and @ashbryho that live close to the airport and sank a bottle of wine. The long haul from LAX to Hong Kong was a upgrade to a lay flat seat via a free system wide upgrade certificate on American. Three hours in Hong Kong were spent in the most to die for lounge in the word. You have to drag me out of this place when they are making the last call for boarding. The final flight from Hong Kong to Bali is on Cathay Pacific and I just have to tough it out in coach. At the boarding desk I was issued a new boarding pass with an operational upgrade to premium economy. This happens when an airline oversells coach and they just grab anyone with a high status to move up to the next class of service so they can fill that coach seat with a standby passenger.
