We definitely don’t take for granted, or should we say ‘granite’ the fact that we have the unbelievable #DevilsMarbles in the Northern Territory. Karlu Karlu, as they’re called by the traditional owners, were formed naturally, slowly eroding over millions of years into their strange and sometimes gravity-defying shapes. Follow the walkways and find out via the information boards how the granite formations have withstood the forces of wind and rain, unlike the surrounding sandstone. These geological wonders are located just an hour drive from #TennantCreek. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia,@amyrcooper.#SeeAustralia#RedCentreNT

Romantic scene from the #Bachelor or just a regular morning at a Top End swimming spot? 🤔 @opeleye recently said “early morning hikes with @ktlou13 to private swimming holes are probably my favourite thing about driving around the national parks of northern Australia." 🙌 We can see why! Say g’day to the wildly photogenic Southern Rockhole in Nitmiluk National Park! We'd like to think that the NT has somehow found itself as @Australia's unofficial capital of natural plunge pools - a reminder that it's anything but dry and sparse 💦 While getting to the rockhole does require a bit of bush-bashing, the cool emerald water is your welcomed reward. It takes about 1.5 hours to hike here from the Nitmiluk Visitor Information Centre, but there’s a strong chance that you’ll have it all to yourself when you arrive 👌 Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Jordan!  #SeeAustralia#TourismTopEnd#NitmilukNT

The diverse landscape, the eye-popping scenery and the easy access to well-maintained trails is why #AliceSprings is enjoying a mountain-biking boom, according to local off-road enthusiast Jenn Rajher. One of the big surprises for mountain bikers hitting the trails around the Red Centre for the first time is how varied they are and how well they’ve been organised into a series of circuits suitable for riders of varying skill, experience and fitness levels. It’s currently the perfect time of year for a MTB adventure in central @australia - winter in Alice means clear blue skies, pleasant riding temperatures and virtually no rain 🙌☀️ If you don’t have your own bike, you can hire one from @outbackcycling in the Todd Mall, and the crew here will offer sound local advice to get you started 👍 #NTaustralia#SeeAustralia#RedCentreNT

What if we told you that this stunning spot is only 15 minutes' drive from #AliceSprings? Shaded by towering cliffs and ghost gums, Simpsons Gap is the first of many stops along the West MacDonnell Ranges. Water flows through a small gap in the ranges here, providing a sheltered haven for a range of native wildlife like the resident black footed rock wallabies. If you're keen to stretch your legs, there are a handful of walking trails that show off the flora, fauna and geology of the area. Whether you pack an overnight bag, or plan to finish the route in one day, you'll get major bang for your driving buck in the West MacDonnell National Park. Continue onto Ellery Creek Big Hole, Ormiston Gorge and Glen Helen Gorge for more adventures!  Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia,@saltythebus.#SeeAustralia#RedCentreNT

Nature lovers will love what's on offer in close proximity to #Darwin, particularly the waterfall-laden #Litchfield National Park! @robmulally recently captured this spectacular photo over Wangi Falls, one of the park's signature swimming hubs. With a stunning cliff face, an emerald-toned plunge pool and a cafe on-site, there's every reason to stay awhile and enjoy your surroundings. If you're looking to stretch your legs, the 1.6 kilometre return Wangi Falls walk will take you up to the escarpment where you'll have an amazing view of the stone country above the falls. Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Rob! #SeeAustralia#TourismTopEnd

#Mataranka’s crystal-clear thermal pool, surrounded by paperbark and palm forest, can be found in Elsey National Park, an hour south of #Katherine. The warm turquoise water, dappled by light filtered through overhanging pandanus, is said to have the power to soothe aches and pains after a day on the road 🙌 After a leisurely dip, continue your hot springs tour at nearby Bitter Springs, another natural sandy-bottomed lagoon in the Mataranka region. This magnificent red-orange rock is guaranteed to make you just as happy as @haylsa and @kyle_hunter here 😄 After a recent trip to #Uluru, Hayley said she'd “re-live this week in a heartbeat!” And with stunning scenes such as these around the base walk, it’s not hard to see why! At 348 metres high, you’ll be left speechless taking in this iconic monolith, which is believed to be made of sandstone about half a billion years old 🙌  The 10.6 kilometre loop walk leads you around the base of Uluru and takes roughly 3.5 hours to complete, depending on how much time we spend you gawking at the rock! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia, Hayley. #SeeAustralia#RedCentreNT

Profoundly spiritual, rich history, and views that make you feel almost insignificant... that's Ubirr in a nutshell 💚 Ubirr (pronounced oo-bir) is home to some of #Kakadu National Park's most famous rock art and is an area steeped in Aboriginal culture and tradition. The 1 kilometre circuit walk passes several art sites before leading up to this stunning lookout over the Nadab floodplain, the park's most famous spot for #sunset 🙌 As the sun begins to dip, the selfies start to slow and the crowd finds a perch to watch nature’s light show in awe. Just when we thought it was officially winter, we were treated to a 28 degree celsius day here in central @Australia! ☀️ Out of all the gaps and gorges in the West MacDonnell Ranges near #AliceSprings, Ellery Creek Big Hole has to be one of the most impressive 😍 Comprised of orange and red quartzite, and formed by massive geological forces, it's not your typical swimming spot... but that's what makes it so special! Whether you pack an overnight bag, or plan to finish the route in one day, you'll get major bang for your driving buck in the West MacDonnell National Park. With its spectacular natural beauty, this park is not to be missed! Cheers for tagging #NTaustralia,@kyle_hunter.#SeeAustralia#RedCentreNT

Meet Southern Arrernte man, Peter and Luritja woman, Christine - they run a cultural tour named after the Western bowerbird, Karrke, near #KingsCanyon. Peter and Christine host groups on a walk through the bush nearby the Wanmarra Community, taking them through dreamtime stories, bush medicine and bush tucker (including the famed witchety grub), an explanation of dot painting, the process of making artefacts and weapons and the survival techniques that has allowed their people to thrive in the harshest of conditions. Located approximately 3.5 hours from #AliceSprings, Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience offer one hour tours from Wednesday to Sunday 👍 #NTaustralia#SeeAustralia#RedCentreNT

@SeeKakadu serves up such spectacular sunsets 😍 @bee_pinkydoony recently witnessed these dreamy colours at Yellow Water Billabong in the heart of the World Heritage-listed national park. Cruises operate here with @KakaduTourism from sunrise to sunset, winding their way through the distinct ecosystems of this ever-changing landscape. With a third of @Australia's bird species located in #Kakadu, you’ll see dozens of different species, from the snake-necked darters drying their wings beside the water to tiny azure kingfishers hiding in the foliage 🐦 Stay at nearby Cooinda Lodge and make sure you don't miss a stunning show like this - you'll need at least a few days to explore the region! When the views look like THIS, you know the walk is going to be worth it 🙌 Only three hours from #Uluru,#KingsCanyon is not to be missed, featuring 100 metre high ancient sandstone walls. Lace up your hiking boots and explore the rim walk - this challenging but spectacular hike is 6 kilometres in length and skirts the edge of the canyon for much of the trail, providing magnificent views of the cliffs and surrounding landscape. More than just a day trip destination, why not explore the region's other walking trails, four-wheel drive tracks, cultural tours and accommodation options ranging from camping to glamping.
