After the sudden and much mourned demise of iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel has appointed its new Creative Director. Virginie Viard, one of Lagerfeld’s closest collaborators for more than 30 years, will be taking over the creative helm of the French fashion house as per a statement released recently. Viard, who was often coined as “Karl’s secret weapon,” entered the brand just four years after Lagerfeld’s appointment as the creative director as an intern in haute-couture embroidery in 1987. | PUFFER DREAMS | MONCLER F/W’19 The @moncler Genius Project was presented recently with perfectly choreographed shows for all the 11 collections that are set to roll out every month this year. . The collections were for both menswear and womenswear with an impressive line of collaborators- Richard Quinn, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Moncler 1952, Sandro Mandrino, Simone Rocha, Palm Angels, 1017 Alex 9SM, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Craig Green and the one element that intersected all together was PUFFER. No one could’ve reimagined puffer this cleverly, from Piccioli’s Couture puffer gowns and Simone Rocha’s outdoor layered and bound long jackets to Craig Green’s camp-ready puffer overalls and Grenoble’s cowboy meets skiing artist fringed delights, the collections kept everyone on their toes.
