Did you know there's a floating village in Phang Nga Bay in Thailand called Koh Panyee? 🏝️ There are literally 1,685 people living there, and it's really far out in the middle of the bay and there's a mosque πŸ•Œ (it's a Muslim community), a school, πŸ‘©β€πŸ« a football pitch ⚽ and so many other super normal things other villages have! It's a really common place for boat trips to dock for lunch.β € β € The village was featured on season one of Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father on Netflix and also Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason! 🎬

Most tourists choose to stay in lively Patong in Phuket but we opted for the much quieter Kata Beach. πŸ–οΈβ € β € It was *very* quiet compared to other towns we stayed in during our trip but still nice, but I will never get over how incredibly unsafe those telephone wires look all over the country. πŸ“ž

Canoeing through caves in Phang Nga Bay was brilliant. It was something I didn't expect to be doing before our trip to Thailand but it's such a gorgeous, serene part of the world and I'm glad I didn't miss it. 🏝️🚣

Before we went to Thailand, my boyfriend and I binge watched Somebody Feed Phil which is a travel/food show on Netflix and I HIGHLY recommend it for travel lovers.β € β € On the Bangkok episode, he eats this fruit which is called mangosteen so we tried it too. It's a bit meh but you can't go to Thailand and not try all of the exotic fruit! πŸŠπŸŒπŸ‹πŸˆ

Last photo of Koh Phi Phi before we head to Kata Beach in Phuket. πŸ–οΈβ € β € This was taken on Monkey Beach (obvs) πŸ’ on our excursion around the Phi Phi Islands. It's literally a beach near a cave inhabited by a lot of monkeys and a pretty popular tourist activity.β € β € It was pretty fun but one really stupid guy walked off his boat eating crisps (at like 10 in the morning, did he not have breakfast?!) and the monkeys just went for him. Like, OF COURSE THEY DID. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I'm sure he would have been warned about it before getting off, like we were. People are idiots. 🀷

Just an average snapshot of Phi Phi Village...β € β € Rows and rows of shops selling clothes πŸ‘• and trinkets πŸ“Ώ and backpackers constantly arriving and leaving. Some spending months and months travelling all around South East Asia on a shoestring πŸŽ’ and others, like me, enjoying a pretty awesome holiday. 🌴

Here is it, folks: THE Beach in Maya Bay in Koh Phi Phi Lei. 🏝️ It is the infamous beach that has closed indefinitely to allow for the ecosystem to heal after being damaged by over tourism. β € β € You may recognise it from Danny Boyle's film from 2000 called The Beach starring Leonardo DiCaprio. πŸŽ¬β € β € So what's changed? Well, clearly you can still see the beach from a distance, and there is a wide rope around the area so snorkellers can't swim to it. But, you can still snorkel 🏊 and sail fairly close to it. So, the only thing that's changed is you just can't go on it. πŸ€·β € β € Since there are other small beaches in the bay, I'd say it makes very little difference to tourists and I'm quite chuffed I'm one of the few people that has tourist-free photos of the beach for my filming locations blog post that I shall be publishing in the coming weeks. πŸ‘

These pretty long-tail boats on Koh Phi Phi are a photographer's dream. πŸ˜πŸ“Έβ € β € They're always decorated with garlands and long pieces of material 🌼🏡️ which often have the colours of the Thai flag: white, red and navy blue. πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ They're still used as a common mode of transport along with speedboats and ferries. πŸ›₯️⛴️

There are so many European and Chinese influences in Phuket City and this more than evident in how the residents express themselves.β € β € I found this intriguing piece of art down a side street, along with other Chinese-style sculptures 🏯 and artworks. I love the quirkiness, and it's turned into my favourite photograph of me from the entire trip. πŸ“Έ

I pretty much *insisted* on an infinity pool 🌊 when choosing our hotel in Bangkok, but considering they're pretty common in the city it wasn't that much of a diva request! β € β € Unfortunately, most of the pool edges were closed off so I couldn't get that dreamy skyline snap, but my boyfriend did precariously take my phone into the pool to snap this one. πŸ“Έ Gotta get one of those clear plastic pouches for next time! 🀳

Bangkok's rooftop bars are the best place to witness the impressive skyline at night. πŸŒ† They are legendary and sooo many to choose from.πŸΈβ € β € I went for Brewski 🍻 on top of the Radisson on Sukhumvit road, cause it was cheaper than other places (I'm talking London prices for cocktails, honestly Bangkok isn't that cheap 🀷) and I really, really like beer. 😊🍺
