⬇️ Quick Tip. . STOP WEIGHING YOURSELF. . We have a hard rule at ERA Fit, you’re not allowed to weight yourself unless body fat is being checked also. . We do this every 2 WEEKS, on the 1st and 15th of the month with our clients. . People tend to obsess over a lb. here, an lb. there, without getting the TRUE measure of success - your body composition. . Case in point, I’m already down about 7-8 lbs. on my vacation but I know that my body fat is the same or even less. IVE LOST 7-8 lbs. of lean mass. This happens regularly when I dip to 3 meals a day and don’t lift. . Often times our clients get excited about WEIGHT LOSS but then we check their body fat the tale of the tape is less than desirable. . Evaluate, make a plan, stick to it, and and do micro-evaluations along the way. . I know most of the tricks to avoiding jet lag but tried to play super hero this round and it bit me in the ass. 5 days into my vacation and I’m only now feeling like I’ve adjusted to the time zone difference. 🤦🏼‍♂️ . Don’t make the same mistake when traveling. . Here are a couple quick tips to avoid jet lag. . 1. Change your attitude and set your mind to the new time zone. Don’t play the comparison game, it will only hinder your adjustment time. . 2. Focus on “yang” neurotransmitter foods in the morning that will wake you up, i.e. meats and nuts. . 3. Focus on foods that produce Yin” neurotransmitters (Serotonin/ GABA) in the evening to help you fall asleep, i.e. rice/ beans/ bananas (My Latino friends, I know you’ll be happy to hear that). . 4. Try to get as much sunlight in the new location upon arrival as possible to help reset your circadian rhythms. . 5. When you get really lean you can eat A LOT more carbs and they will go to the right place - your muscles. . However, you have to work your ass off to get lean first. . A good goal for guys is sub 12% and for gals sub 17% to start seeing returns on higher carb consumption. . Airports are getting better, but it’s difficult to know what to expect. Preparation is key. . . P.S. - Weighted pull ups are easily one of the most underutilized back exercises - START DOING THEM. . Protocol today was 12 sets of 4-5 reps with 45 lbs. strapped to me. 150 seconds rest in between. .
